At least this game is full price. So there's that.

The cat is out of the bag. The new game is Transformers Devestation, a cel-shaded brawler. It is now listed on bestbuy (including screenshots and a few other details) after screenshots leaked today. This is kind of a huge bummer to me because I don't really care about Transformers and wish they'd stuck to their existing IPs or a new original one. Oh well, hopefully the gameplay is good.

Probably at the Microsoft press conference. I'd be surprised if they don't have gameplay to show.

IGN has revealed that they're going to show gameplay of a new Platinum title at E3 on June 16th 3pm PT. - Source

For me that means that I'm officially on the E3 hypetrain (we'll likely see Scalebound gameplay as well) and it'll probably one of my personal highlights. There's also this tweet:

This makes me think Revengeance 2 (due to his eye) or a new DMC (due to Dante's outfit). I'd take both though a new DMC would be my top pick apart from a completely new IP.

What do you think it could be? Are you as excited as I am for a new Platinum game?

Why do we care again? Previews are and have been worthless for quite a while now, so I guess this is more interesting that whatever the run of the mill preview would say (especially if he wasn't allowed to talk about most of the stuff he saw as Jeff's post indicates). Not that I think this is a particularly well written article but it seems rather harmless and easy to ignore if you don't agree with the style.

It certainly looks a lot better in motion though that dog was not meant for closeups. I give them props that the trailer shows game footage instead of shiny CG. Good first showing overall.

It's my first impression and that sceenshot is all we have to go on for now. I also elaborated what my problems with it are. I'm not shitting on the game in any way and as I posted, I'll reserve my judgement until I've seen how it looks and plays in motion but I'm really hoping that this isn't gamebryo again. I want this to be good.

@baronsamedi: I think my biggest problem with that shot is not necessarily the quality of the graphics but that it looks really bland and uninteresting. Yes, it's the post apocalypse and you're playing in a wasteland but I think in that case you need a great artstyle and I'm not seeing that here (yet). It's obviously only one shot and I'm still really interested to see gameplay but let's not kid ourselves, they needed a new engine, a complete overhaul. In my opinion both Skyrim and F3/NV suffered greatly due to the engine and the techincal problems though I have to say that the style in NV seems more appealing to me than this shot. We'll see, hopefully I'm wrong.
