Well I was part of the Golden Gamespot era with Jeff, Ryan, Brad, Alex and Rich. When that fell apart I followed the Jeff, Ryan, Vinny and Brad to this place, with Alex coming along later (even though he was part of the arrow pointing down podcasts as a guest).

The Whiskey Media era was the golden time of Giant Bomb and when it ended, the site lost something. When Ryan passed that compounded it although the crazy man known as Dan bought a new energy to site. Then he left...

...and so did I.

I didn't find a replacement. When you have tasted Ambrosia everything else becomes *sigh*

So golden era members of GS and GB, farewell and happy trails. I hope life provides the opportunities for future happiness. I wish you all the best.

(I do feel the recent acquisition of CBS has prompted this)

I have fallen all the way off. For the first time I haven't subscribed, I haven't listened to the podcasts in about a year. To be perfectly frank, I adored everything that came from the Whiskey Media era. The mixing of the various websites, the sheer energy that came from that.

When Ryan passed. lots of new segments appeared which was fun and different, but they all seemed to disappear over time, with it the energy that came from them.

With the acquisition GB kind of went a little sterile, then people started leaving and it left holes. It lost its dynamic and chemistry. East has kept the energy the most having Vinny, Alex and most especially Dan, almost an old school feel, but even that began to wain for me. Politics kept creeping in and I just didn't enjoy it anymore.

Now I stop by just every now and then just looking for a take on a particular game and maybe watch or listen to the Whiskey Media content. I felt like I lost a friend.

It depends on how long Phil Harrison is there for.

When Phil's name pops up, Atari, Sony (early PS3 era) and XB1 launch era things seem to go to shit.

I'm being unfair, I know. Just a trend I've noticed over the years.

I pre-ordered, played the story to conclusion and stopped.

My friends haven't bought Destiny 2 yet as I pretty much told them to wait until there is more and better content and its a bit cheaper. No strikes, raiding or pvp. I just went back to Destiny 1 where my stuff is.

I'm old, so I no longer give a shit other than whether the game is in my wheelhouse and if it is whether its any good or not.

I also like using 'whether' in sentences as many times as possible. I feel as if I have failed this time though.

Going to sleep, work in 5 hours. Urgh.

UK 200mbs download speed, no data cap and it's pretty nifty most of the time, but the speed drops off during peak times. It's fine for gaming, but if I want to download a game it takes a while. Off peak it's fast, downloaded 13 games while I was at work for 3 hours, one being Quantum break at over 80 gigs.

I don't use data on my phone as I hate having to have a phone for work and can barely stomach using as a phone let alone as a screen for internet. (The phone is fine, I just hate screen zombies)

I've bought one. Already I love it.

I bought it for 2 reasons. I do play games on PC, but my PC is pretty old and wheezy now, as in the motherboard supports pci express 2, not 3 so I will need to do a full rebuild if I want high end performance, basically an i7, an rog mobo and a shit load of ram, ssds and the most expensive bit, a 1080ti.

£450 instead of £1500 plus I already have 200 games for this thing. No brainer for me. My original xb1 which is shared with someone else is the mk1 version...I don't have to share this one. :)

I could've bought Sony, but I won't as they royally pissed me off and when a company pisses me off, I won't buy their shit ever again. I'm stubborn like that.

I'm old school, basically as I'm an old dude (well, old enough). I've watched the internet grow into something amazing and awesome, then social media arrived (mainly twitter) and now I hate pretty much everything on it.

I spend time on around 5 or 6 websites instead of the 30 plus I used to for one very simple reason.

Common sense rarely exists anymore, there seems to be (to me) far to many people poised at the keyboard ready to jump down somebody's throat for anything remotely offensive, ready to take up the cause and shout until they are blue in the face until they get their own way or claim the moral high ground.

Before the internet people had to interact face to face a lot more. For the most part it was far more civilized than the internet...or painful. Either way, agreeing to disagree was far easier then.

I hate 99% of the internet now. The entitlement, the narcissism, the 'jump on the bandwagon' mentality. If it wasn't for Amazon, Giantbomb, some video streaming and porn I wouldn't even open a browser anymore.
