@monkeyking1969:Right I got a sense of that. I was wondering if it did anything for fans. I'm not sure if fans would find it bittersweet or get angry knowing what is to come. Regardless I can't shake the feeling they wanted to write a new timeline but decided against it in the last minute.

@gee_rad, @monkeyking1969, @efesell: the killings still felt weird. even moreso since kiryu joins back makes me thing they all crashed but survived. What a weird line they are walking. I personally feel that section could have been cut for a stronger narrative cohesion.

@shockingalberto: now that you mention it, sera makes two separate arguments for sparing dojima and the hitman. i feel it a bit unnecessary. I feel the second argument, controlling his enemies instead of disposing of them, was more persuasive. Though I guess they wanted to make the non-killing point with both kiryu and majima one last time.

Man I liked this feature, but man reading up on what follows ... ehhh. It's in a weird place, where their best game so far has to still justify the continuity.

Also I dunno, I didn't quite get Sera's pontification. Makoto was not gonna forgive Majima for killing in her name when she was ready to try to achieve it on her own? Yeah sure, she was in shock and at the end of her rope, but still seemed a bit weird. The last part of the game was pretty weird about not crossing that line and Shibusawa was right: Kazama was no saint either. Also how the hell doesn't the shooting sequence Kiryu is in not stain his hands? Were those explosions and crashes just visual metaphors for them rudely cutting off the yakuza on a highway?

But yeah I'm kind of sad Majima doesn't become the stoic handsome butler trope with a dark backstory as it seemed they set him up. His interactions were way more fun especially in the Grand and hostess club.

@themaxmeister: i went back to seeing what his scores was in this QL after I started playing and was pleased with myself that musicians also have trouble with this. that being said, yeah I only found out about the combo mechanic during level 6 or at least that's what I think it's trying to teach me in the beginning there. I think Alex did a good job representing the intensity of the game.

For people on the fence; don't be. If you like a challenge or the thrill of survival without getting into MOBAs or DayZ type games, then give it a shot. To me it scratches the Dark Souls/Super Meat Boy itch. I like playing it, I like being surprised and beating the stages, then I also really enjoy seeing other fall into the same traps I did.

Wait, if they start with Sunday, then what is a weekend? IT MAKES NO SENSE! Why would you keep both in your head? The only other time-related example I can think of is using 24h and 12h in tandem, but at least you encounter both during your day.

Some of the arguments I've read in the comments really enforces why I and a lot of people think mobas are weird. I do not think people who want to be competitive should expect automatic team matchmaking to give them a good time.

This is why when I want to have a good time online it's 1v1. I also think that this problem has arisen because 4v4 or more has become too popular too quick. We maybe should have solved 2v2 before we moved towards bigger teams.

Woah freaky, I just beat this area like 30 minutes ago for the first time.

I got Dark Souls fever for DS3 and realized I hadn't beat DS1 all the way yet.

No Caption Provided

Yeah I beat this like yesterday. For some reason I thought this stream was from a community member and not Brad. Though I have beaten DS1 I never fought Priscilla or got the Steamworks achievements, so might as well until the hacking dealio gets fixed.

I platinumed DSII recently, and there is just something so forgettable about that game. I can't say I enjoyed it nearly as much as I did DSI, but they may just be because DSI was my first experience with the series.

Having finished DS2 Sotfs recently with a 50ADP naked dude, I would say the DLC's are worth while, even though Fume Knight was infuriating as was horsefuck valley, but it has some highlights especially with Sir Alonne. Though yes I was also thinking about this recently, that you can't get that first time back when you discover a new genre/series you didn't know you were going to enjoy.

@ultrasupermario: Dark Souls 1 is the most popular, because it was most people's first Souls game, and you never forget your first. Dark Souls 2 made some controversial changes and is deeply flawed, but a better game than it gets credit for. Dark Souls 3 is probably the strongest game overall, but it kinda presumes you're already familiar with the series in a lot of ways.

Yes, Brad is playing the PC version of Dark Souls 1 and running a 60FPS mod. The game is locked to 30 by default. The mod increases the frame rate but has some weird effects like certain jumps being harder or some effects not rendering like the purple sludge coming out of the dragon Brad is fighting. Normally you could see it acumulating in puddles on the ground at your feet which would drive you back. Not super game breaking unless you are doing speed runs. I would suggest jumping in with DS1, though maybe it'd be advised to watch a primer or something if you don't want to get frustrated and confused early on. I did and it got me through enough of the game to where I was ready to take on the rest on by mself. DS2 in my mind is more geared towards players who are somewhat familiar and has some mechanics to throw people off who have mastered the DS1.

Bonewheels are always the worst enemy. Always.

Truth.

They were wusses in 2, a bit more threatening in 3 though mainly because of how you end up stumbling upon them.

These. fucking. things. gave me so much more trouble than Bonewheels ever did.
