Sim City 0

No.Just... Look man. I don't know how something like this happens. I don't know how a beloved company (RIP) could take such a solid concept as the Sim City franchise and completely tear shit up. Between the smaller map compared to the game's predecessors, disastrous multiplayer and online features, and several key features and staples of the Sim City franchise being broken if not outright missing? Maxis/EA screwed the goddamn pooch. If you want a good City sim, go play one of the other Sim City ...

Bloodborne Review 0

You know what? Maybe I'm not the right person to praise Bloodborne. I never enjoyed Demon's Souls, I didn't care for Dark Souls 2, and the furthest I ever got in the first Dark Souls game was the boss fight with the Capra Demon. But this wasn't the case when it came to Bloodborne. No matter how many times I failed this time around, I instead got right back up and continued pushing forward. Bloodborne isn't just a fantastic game, it might just be the game that finally got me to appreciate and und...

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare 0

For as much as Call of Duty Ghosts did wrong, Advanced Warfare gets so so right. Between the supply crate loot aspect added to the tried and true multiplayer structure, some fantastic new multiplayer modes and an absolutely idiotic yet amazing campaign; it is safe to assume that Call of Duty is back....

Halo: The Master Chief Collection (As of December 22nd, 2014) 0

(Disclaimer: This is not a review of the product from launch. This review is as of the current patch and fix on December 22nd, 2014. The game could totally be in a better or worse state after the fact.)Halo: The Master Chief Collection is nearly exactly what a collection of the Halo series should be, with some minor sacrifices to smaller stuff such as armor customization. When Matchmaking works, the sheer variety and options you have will be sure to keep you entertained for a long time, and the ...

Destiny 0

Take a bit of Borderlands, splash in the combat dynamics from Bungie's previous series Halo, and mix it into a similiar structure to Phantasy Star Online and you'd end up with Destiny. The combat in Destiny is the purest draw for the game, but repetitive mission structure, a troubling loot system and a low amount of content which leads to you grinding by playing the same repetitive missions over and over again... Destiny could have been more. I love it, but it doesn't mean you will....

Crossy Road 0

The idea of Crossy Road is a simple one: Take the endless runner approach from games such as Jetpack Joyride or Temple Run and fuse it with Konami's Frogger franchise a game that may or may not bare some certain resemblance to Konami's Frogger. The gameplay and controls are simple and addictive, and sessions can last anywhere from two seconds to minutes at a time. At a price tag of... well.. nothing, Crossy Road is definitely worth a shot, and if you're anything like me, you'll find yourself cro...

Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark 0

Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark is the worst possible fate for High Moon Studios' take on the Transformers franchise, with a new developer taking their work of love into the most generic possible sequel imaginable. Dark Spark suffers from inconsistent gameplay, horrendous graphical glitches (for instance, textures on moving models often disappear and "static" out), poorly written dialogue, and a general feeling of "We didn't want to make this." Save your money, and go buy one of High Moon's...

Secret's Short Reviews #003- Forza Motorsport 4 0

The problem with racing games like Forza 4 is that it is extremely difficult to take a closer look at the game without seeing the titles as being extremely similar to its precursors. Fortunately, for Forza 4, being compared with prior installments isn't a bad thing. Forza is still a vast racer, with tight controls, amazing customization, and a wide variety of game modes- ranging from hot laps, to challenges inspired by BBC's Top Gear, and (my personal favorite) Tag. It's definitely a case of "If...

Secret's Short Reviews #002- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim 0

As someone who loved Oblivion for all of it's flaws and for hundred upon hundreds of hours, I was afraid of going into Skyrim, as I wasn't sure if I'd be able to enjoy another entry of the series with the same amount of passion and force that I was hit with for Oblivion. So what happened when I played Skyrim? About another 150 hours down the toilet in a game that greatly expanded upon not just the changes and implementations from Oblivion, but from Fallout 3 and New Vegas as well. The controls a...

Secret's Short Reviews #001- Transformers: Fall of Cybertron 0

When you ultimately get down to it, Fall of Cybertron is an average game whose biggest draw is the atmosphere itself. As a TF fan, I appreciate the love that High Moon put into this game, once you get around it being a game with giant robots, giant robot cities and giant robot dinosaurs, what you are left with is yet another third person shooter game, albeit one that is catering toward Transformers fans. It is worth playing, but to the degree of which you enjoy the game will highly vary. The sho...
