I think it's one of the default icons for people who align themselves to Sony.

I thought that was the default icon you get if your alignment is ps3. Not sure though. I know it is a solid snake picture.

People should get their own avatar and stick with it. I generally associate avatars with names, and it's odd when people use the same avatars or switch avatars every few days.

Heath Ledger's joker was a great character, but it should be banned from all internet avatars.  Ditto for the Army of Darkness dude and anything to do w/ Jessica ALba
