I'm issuing an ultimatum: If Giant Bomb wants to retain its relevance as a gaming source, by the end of the year the wiki needs to acknowledge of the rise of the Android as a platform for games. Gaming is starting to arrive in a big way as the Market becomes available in more countries and available on more devices across more networks. Games range anywhere from the tank combat game Panzer Panic, to the racer Raging Thunder, to the addicting Speed X. I know I've already harped on this before, but by the end of 2011, I guarantee that the Android Market will rival iTunes App Store in terms of diversity and quality of games.
Recently, I've been playing:
Pac-Man Championship Edition (no explanation necessary)
SpeedX (dodge blocks as your hurtle down an artsy and seizure inducing "corridor")
Raging Thunder 2 (standard racing game)
Radiant (kind of like galaga)
Panzer Panic (top down tank combat game)
Other great games I've played:
Replica Island (entertaining platformer)
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? (self-explanatory)
Zenonia
Giant Bombers, it's about time we have a page for Android just like we do for iOS. I want to be able to fill out wiki pages for Android just like any other game, and write reviews as well. It can't be hard to add? I'm willing to take to whichever moderator I need to make this happen.
" @EpicSteve: it's an american manga/graphic novel were this likable loser jerk called scott pilgrim meets the literal girl of his dreams but to date her properly he has to defeat the league of evil exes which consist of 7 of her evil exes. then hilarity ensues EDIT!!! sorry it's canadian and set in toronto, sliped my mind there "
I read the first part about it being American and was going to burst your bubble, but you burst it for yourself. :'(
I just read all six volumes in about two sittings. It was so good! Can't wait for the movie. I'm tempted to try this, but I feel like I wouldn't finish it.
" I hate because it looks heavily over-dramatized, and also up its own ass. Facebook wasn't some revolution, just a popular social website like myspace. "
Whether you like it or not, Facebook is changing the way people communicate in a way MySpace was never able to do, and in a dramatic way. We don't just communicate anymore; we publish. Rather than communicating on a person-to-person basis, we're sharing our thoughts, the things we do, our lives with all of our "friends". Whether you think that's a good thing or not is for you to decide, but I personally think that it will be a positive change. Facebook can call people to be better when they know everybody is watching. With 500 million users on Facebook, you can't deny its impact. If you do, you're being cynical, and there's nothing "intelligent" about that.
Personally, there are a number of reasons I want to see this movie. I'm most likely going into software development, either mobile or web development (or both). I am a fan of Jesse Eisenberg's acting. David Fincher has some good films under his belt.
I will be definitely lining up to see this one in October.
My PC isn't nearly at the level my PS3 is, technically, but it has become my main platform recently. That partly had to do with me going to college, but I've found that at a point, graphical fidelity stops being important. The proficient PC developers know how to create an engine that scales well. Valve games run incredibly smooth while still providing high levels of graphics at 1920 x 1080 of my TV screen. And the mouse beats an analog stick any day, though I do miss the buttons of a game pad (much better than awkward finger straddling on the keyboard).
