"How do I know this place is different? Because of the staff. Jeff, vinny and all of the others really know gaming inside and out. This website is almost a one of a kind in the sense of wiki content and user driven submissions.
Don't worry about spam (it's in beta - day 1 still)
The staff is NOT worried about spam/new features as much as they are worried about bugs/glitches/bandwidth.Ā This site is brand new, and there are certain steps that need to be taken. Crap posting will slow down - just remember though, this is OUR community - we drive it. If we water it and give it care it will grow into a towering tree. If we ignore it and hide it in the dark, it will die.
We can and should expect:
- Trolls (attention whores)
- Post Whores (its a brand new website, people want to be noticed first)
- Fanboys (because it's still the internet)
But if we can accept these issues, like every forum, and work on becoming a friendly community and separating ourselves from the stigma of Gamespot, then this becomes ours, not theirs, but ours.
Mods will eventually come in as the site grows, people from the community will stand out from the crowd asĀ "Moderation material" and probably be asked to join the mod team.
It was when the whole thing with Jeff happened, then I just kinda followed his online activities and he eventually directed us to this website. WHICH IS AWESOME BY THE WAY.
It's more creepy that he always likes to make small appearances just randomly out of nowhere... and what is up with his voice. Let's hope that this is all explained in episode three.
