My Favorite Games To Play With Friends

I figured I'd make a list of the games I love to play online :) hopefully we'll find some common ground here folks. These games are in no particular ranking or order, they were listed as I thought of them.

If I think of more later I'll be sure to add them.

List items

  • If you have never played this game on a multiplayer server before, you're missing out. Completely. What's better than playing a virtual game of Legos with zombies? Playing it with your friends. Especially great is coordinating a building plan with everybody (I currently have plans in my server to build a rail system to everybody's house, from a central hub. It's just the start of our ambitious plans)

  • Just recently started playing this with a friend. Playing on hard difficulty (vanilla game) against two bots is tense and frustrating, yet so much fun. The hours fly by, and we watch as we slowly get pushed back. Even though we're losing the war, we're having so much fun doing it.

  • This game is a classic, pure and simple. The fantastic multiplayer keeps your heart pounding, and the strategy of playing infected is immensely satisfying when it pays off. Where do you position your infected? Do you initiate with the smoker or boomer? Should you get them in an open area, or a tight confine in order to get all of them at once? When you're with a good team against a good team, this game can be tense and exciting all the way to that last survivor wipe.

  • Those dungeons, man. They're tough stuff. You better know what you're doing. So, get a few friends with you, strategize, and voila, you get the rewards!

  • SWAT. Gotta love SWAT. It's tense. No radar. No shields. Just you, a DMR, and your wits. On top of that, firefight can be pretty entertaining, and the co-op campaign is amazing every time. Also, Big Team Battle, with the Falcon providing overwatch? Amazing. And Living Dead/Forge? What?

  • I CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT THIS!!!

I love playing PvP, or just doing monos against the AI. All good fun :)

  • I only recently started to play this again. Planning a massed offensive with your friend, then initiating with an artillery barrage? Exciting. Helping your friend by flanking those oh-so-pesky German tanks and taking them out with bazookas? Awesome. Teamwork really makes this game shine, without it you lose.

  • Gotta love me some old RTSes. Age of Empires was the king of em all.

  • Couldn't forget to include this guy. I got interested in this sometime in October. Since then, it's essentially become my main game to play outside of Xbox. I have a group of people to play with (normally 2 other people, which sometimes jumps up to 6 or 7 total people who want to play), and the gameplay for me is so addicting that I keep coming back.

  • I was completely burned out on this game a month or two back when two of my friends suggested we start new characters and play co-op online through the story. I grudgingly agreed.

10 minutes in, I was hopelessly addicted to it again. This game is so much better with friends. With your friends, you can work cooperatively to kill boss, heal each other, or just duel each other when bored. Amazing game, definitely on this list.

  • I've probably played this game more online than COD. The free mode is the mode I'm into. Driving around the city, avoiding firefights, that satisfaction of getting a helicopter and strafing your enemies, the fun of doing races and tricks on the runways of the airport. This game is one of the best I've played for online. It's especially great when you forge an alliance with your friends and a few strangers in order to get that annoying troll that kills everybody. Some of the greatest satisfaction I have.

  • It was fun forming a posse and going to hunt cougars in the woods :) and I was always better at throw knifing my friend's horse.

  • I love this game. I normally play with a friend, and I'll always go big navy emphasis, so I'll have aircraft carriers. Since we play islands, whenever we need to invade, I clear the way with my navy and carriers while he lands troops on the island and takes a city. From there, we always would push out and take the island piece by piece. Amazing to play with your friends :)

  • *Typical crap about MW3 being great or whatever, blah blah blah*

In all seriousness, pretty fun (just like every other game in the series), so I enjoy playing with my friends.

  • This game is one that I've only played with friends a few times, but the only strategic planning makes it so much fun. Plan every move with your friends carefully, because if you don't and you attack the wrong planet, you could lose everything.
