With 1,6 million copies sold in just a week, I'm not surprised.

I'd love to see the same kind of game, but set in the 80's.
I guess it's not very "Noir", but just think about how awesome it would be!

I'm right there with you. Though some people think of it as a palette swap, there are so many games whose mechanics I'd love to see in different settings.  Hell, I'm still waiting for a Brothers in Arms game not set in WWII.

Man this brings back some great memories.  There are two things I remember vividly about playing these games. Driving on to a football field while a game was going on, and getting the lightning power up and turning into a mobile tesla coil.

I'm still waiting for another shooter  to just straight up take the Brother's in arms command ring. It's probably not suitable for a game that's supposed to be as tactical as Operation Flashpoint, but  it would be great in a squad based shooter.

That's awesome. I was really impressed with him on the GDC podcasts.

That is incredibly reactionary.  THQ has published a good number of great games and I'm still waiting for a proper sequel to Company of Heroes which I still play to this day. I really hope this doesn't cause them to overreact and do something drastic to the studio.

I was late to Mass Effect (didn't buy it until last December's Steam sale) but no other game franchise has me frothing at the mouth like a rabid dog.  Uncharted 3 and Arkham City are icing on the cake. Fall 2011 is going to cost me a lot of money.

I've yet to finish the last one, but I have been gladly handing out my money for every bit of DLC they've released thus far. I'll probably do the same for this so long as there's a new set of missions coming down the pipeline.

I had already preordered Madden long before either demo came out, but I agree that NCAA was more entertaining to play.  I assume that the Madden demo had been stripped of a few presentation features that were present in the college game.  I didn't dislike Madden too much though, but I would certainly like a sprint button so I could better control the speed of the ballcarriers.

I've given up on trying to get in there.

Watching stage demo at the EA conference made me a bit less excited for this. I wouldn't think that marrying Bad Company 2 and CoD4 would make me feel ambivalent.
