The price is definitely larger than I expected, but I'm still willing to pay it because it's a revolution.
Think of the following cost for each item in the package if you bought them as a consumer:
Xbox One Controller - $99
Good headphones - $99
Good microphone - $99
Oculus Rift (the rift itself) - ~$200
Eve Valkyrie and Lucky's Tale - ~$60
Cables - ~$30
Oculus Remote - ~$50
With my estimate, that's roughly $637 worth of stuff. I know that it doesn't cost Oculus the same amount to bundle these things, but you could imagine the circumstance of where a more greedy company would get you to pay for everything individually. I could so easily imagine another company making you pay extra for the Oculus Remote for example, but because it's cheap enough for Oculus to make, it's part of the bundle with no real extra cost to the consumer.
