Irrelevant and incongruous Encarta factoids are hilarious and perfect fodder for tedium after seeing them about 5 times each
"srs" racing metagame implementation is some kind of terrifyingly nihilistic game show
Just fucking take GT4, throw in Forza-esque complex car customization, keep the campy old menus, tailored/licensed music and campaign system, maybe put in an outlandish fantasy course on the moon for kicks and optional damage model and get the hell out of the players' way
Even if I were into eRacing (which I'm not, only because I don't have the time or money for doing so most effectively via hardware and long practice hours), I wouldn't want my progress to be dictated by calendars after a workweek, nor would any of the provided tutorialization help explain exactly what the hell is expected of you as a competent player. Seemingly two separate and clashing conditions for ghosting and always-online restrictions for 90% of the game doesn't help either.
Good times, man. Weird in that the upload date of the video (not even the original, the Giant Bomb mirror) was 5 years before I'd even encountered Giant Bomb in earnest.
Nah, Brad, I get it. The Genesis' sound chip was amazing, and no amount of smooth-talkin' SNESes could change that. ... of course, I grew up with one, slight bias there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjaW4ZYzVHI (Shinobi III: Whirlwind)
@vinny I think you and @danryckert should be allowed to watch the Contra run from the recent AGDQ for some tips. Then you don't have to settle for just completing the game, you can go for a speedrun.
I want to see an episode where they watch the AGDQ race after they finish Contra w/o serious help. Their heads would explode.
