I've been looking for Steve Matchett's books for a couple weeks now (my interest in a good read about F1 coincided with Lang's request for a reading list last week), but they seem improbably difficult to find stateside. I finally bit the bullet and ordered a used copy from a third-party seller on Amazon. It's being shipped media mail, so it'll take like two weeks to get it. Oh well.
@drewbert: I know it's still three months away, but have y'all gotten any closer to figuring out an official Alt F1 meetup?
Also, feel you on the price of those dang tickets. Even buying them directly through COTA (shoutout to Westin, who was supremely helpful in helping me select tickets for my dad & I), they were jaw-droppingly expensive.
@briarpack: The kind of horrible American that goes to Belgium for Spa instead of travellin' to Tejas for some real racin' around the ole' Circuit of them thar Americas.
It's even funnier to me because Raikkonen is probably the driver on the grid that best embodies the Lang Zone.™
@kasaioniMost of the tracks you'd want for a more comprehensive racing game are there, including Laguna Seca, but I mostly want to tool around GP tracks in an open-wheel car.
Project CARS is much more akin to Forza or Gran Turismo, though it's not quite as good as either. It does have wheel support, however, which Forza 6 Apex does not--for shame, Microsoft.
I might just re-buy F1 2014 and see if I can't get it to work; $10 seems like a good price for that game.
