I have to say I kinda agree, I don't know if I'd say I don't want to support the site, but I feel like Patrick has been sort of filling the void of content. I can't watch UPF at all anymore, it's too boring. The bombcast feels like it has reach critical mass with the meandering and I've come to realize I just...don't care for Brad or at least Brad has changed. However on the flip side I value what Drew brings to the Podcast as he has a solidly different view-point and he always seems to be doing new things which is great.

For as much as I disagree with the preachy side of Patrick, his content is what's kept me around. I also hope we get to hear more of Alex. He is very good at articulating his points which is something that seems to lack moreso these days.

@spraynardtatum: I cannot lie, I find Jar Time Jeff more interesting than Bombcast Jeff.

I'm interested, I find this art-style way more appealing than what the Souls games offer, and even if it does seem a bit more up-tempo combat-wise that really isn't a bad thing. I mean I thought Amalur was a pretty good game, and it makes me think of that in terms of combat even if it is toned down some (as in not being so over the top action-wise). Also it doesn't have bloom turned up to 11 and that's always a good thing.

Also coming to PC, so I'm down for sure

You know the truly funny thing about the removal of the media NDA is that it seems most of the media has played only the low level content and it only gets worse the longer you attempt to drag on upwards. I've been in their "Psijic Order" internal testing (24/7 access) for about 6 months now and it really is the definition of a husk of a game. It looks pretty decent, but it is rife with technical issues from consistent combat lag and bewildering CTD's to still having obvious class design flaws(at least on what they claim to want to deliver to the player).

I will be truly surprised if this game manages to carve out even 250k players after 3 months.

It is nothing like Skyrim, but the overall feel of regular leveling zones is far too slow to satisfy the speed that MMO players like to cruise through single-player content, the "Synergies" are wonky and rarely actually work. Group combat does not work well and threat seems non-existent. They force exploration upon players, in a far worse way than SWTOR did, with Skyshards (3 give you a skill-point). Forcing you to dig into random generic caves and graves to trudge through a bunch of enemies to kill a moderately annoying boss to get an achievement and the skyshard that is almost invariably located behind him. The crafting system is better than it used to be, but still painstaking as it is difficult to notice gathering nodes sometimes (ore in particular blends in too well with the ground).

Also another aggravating thing is that they recycle this "group X is killing town Y to raise their dead corpses for an army" story-line in multiple zones in each faction.

I should really sit down and make a write up on it because the game is just, riddled with sub-par design. I try to check back every time their is a big update and see if they make improvements (they haven't really), but I can't even bring myself to play it for free and I haven't even played that many hours of it(compared to what I normally dump into MMO's)

@amyggen: When I say shallow I'm just specifically referring to combat and game-play, neither game is particularly complicated, neither are very difficult and both can be broken and gamed in their own ways. However things like exploration are where skyrim pulls ahead, even if every tomb/cave has the same draugr and similar layouts and every mine is filled with vampires or bandits etc.

Personally I bought the game whenever it first came out and thought it was pretty good. Frankly it's no worse than Skyrim in terms of being a shallow game. However you definitely have to take the time to do a bit of reading in places and dig for some lore which really makes the game better. A few zones are pretty damn bland, but their are some others that if you take the time to dig into it are pretty rewarding. Also the DLC involving the Giants is pretty interesting, the one with the ghost pirate isn't.

Shame that the studio was so problem-ridden, it was a game that would have benefited mightily from a sequel and I'd say it deserved a second look for certain.

I can't even convince myself to go play for free and I've had access to that for the past 5 months. I think I played for maybe 10 hours tops before I just had to stop, and couldn't go back.

Dunno how they expect to convince people to shell out for that when most people who've gotten an extensive look are highly unimpressed.

I feel like people have reached a point where they are automatically attacked for any Character design that isn't fully clothed that is female. No one would care about Naked Ryden but if that game came out today with a Naked Rydenia everyone would chew that developer apart.

Who cares, quit getting upset about mostly naked women when you wouldn't be upset about mostly naked men.

You don't want to make your characters that way? Then don't.

Frankly Japanese developers will have a far different perspective than you to begin with anyway. Maybe Japan is more sexually comfortable as a society with people lacking clothing not just men.

If you don't like it don't buy it, don't tell Kojima or whomever that they shouldn't make their game the way they want.

Why is it a crime to have a character with sex appeal outside of the fact that it's common just like in EVERY FORM OF MEDIA?

I'd fight everyone but Vinny and Drew. Vinny gets a pass for having a kid and being super cool, and Drew would be too depressed if I broke his leg and he couldn't go on his super cool non-video game adventures.
