@oldenglishc: I actually think it's a decent little game despite having braindead gameplay in contrast with the extremely demanding turn-based strategy of the originals. I picked this game up because I thought the idea of customizing a wanzer and shootin stuff seemed alright, and Evolved does provide that if nothing else. I'm simultaneously playing Front Mission 3 on my Vita, which is an AWESOME game. Squenix should really remaster Front Mission 5 and port it to PS4/XB1.

I love hip-hop to death, but I'm really not a fan of modern battle rapping. It used to mean something back when it was a competition between real artists, but now all the battlers are career battlers, they aren't really making music or doing shows. I really don't care how many ways you can insult someone via rhyme if you can't flow over a beat. It's essentially become the reality TV of hip-hop.

Not saying all battling is stupid or that they don't have writing talent, certainly not, but the framing of battles has changed significantly and the music part has pretty much been abandoned.

AKA your recent plays. And before the concern trolling starts, I put all these back on my shelf in alphabetical order shortly after I took this picture.

LOL, clearly not a serious battle but that was hilarious.

I also thoroughly enjoyed this, in the related videos:

@micemoney:If you have the Action Replay cart that is needed to play imports, it doubles as a RAM cart. At least, that's what I have read, can't confirm until I get a game that requires it.

Oh man, I had NO IDEA that the Saturn was a 2D powerhouse. No wonder textures/colours look great and models and assets are blocky.

Thank you for all the recs, I'm definitely gonna get some of these. Last Bronx is on the list for sure, it looks fun:

I'll definitely try and get Children of the Atom and Asuka 120% too. I wanted Waku Waku 7 as well, but I read that the Saturn version is laggy and not worth it. I'd love to have Street Fighter Alpha 3 as well, as the Saturn version is said to be the best even amongst all the rereleases, but it's too damn expensive.

This game also looks interesting, but again, it's like $300 or something on eBay. No thank you.

I picked up VF Kids last week, and Fighting Vipers came in the mail today. I got the Japanese version specifically for this:

I've always loved the weirdly sunny vibe that all the old Sega/AM2 stuff has, haven't seen a game like that since Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed. The bright, nonsensical colour palettes are still really pleasant, and maybe it's just me but I think the Saturn's composite signal hold up much better than the PSX or the N64 on a modern TV. It looks quite sharp!

What other Saturn fighters are worth picking up? I'm not too discerning, as long as it's fun, weird, and/or has something that makes the Saturn version special.

@iambeaker: that sounds exquisite. I'm gonna try and pull through, gonna pack a lot of sandwiches and decent food though. It would be downright inhumane to expect us to eat movie snacks for the whole day, and I won't do it.

Although the prequel trilogy will be a chore to endure, I cannot think of a better way to experience the new Star Wars.

I bought my ticket last night, going with one of my best friends since middle school who is also the biggest Star Wars nerd I know. Haven't been to an event like this in a while, and I'm so excited. 17 goddamn hours of Star Wars. I'm probably going to be so delirious by the time they get to The Force Awakens.
