(A very incomplete sample of) My favorite games of all time. Still a work in progress especially on the retro gaming front

List items

  • When I started PC gaming this is one of the games that roped me in to becoming a long time PC gamer. It was both technically advanced for its time compared to the console games I had played and had an engaging set of characters. I was a huge fanboy of this series when I was young.

  • I waited so long for this game to arrive. I was completely hooked by Under A Killing Moon and the news that this would be more detailed, longer and have multiple paths to it set the fanboy alight. I could not wait to re-encounter the characters on Chandler Ave. It did not disappoint.

  • Probably my favorite racing game of all time. Also sold me on Xbox Live. I put hundreds of hours making the world leader boards. Though there are a few games that I try to use as spiritual successors, Ice racing and the multiplay experience/community still have yet to get a proper successor.

  • This game is probably the reason I play racing games. I have no idea how I came to own it. My guess is I totally fell in love with the music when I rented it. But the gameplay grew on me immensely. I probably had the most hours on this of all my SNES games.

  • Fantastic universe and world building fiction. Gameplay had its some problems, but the world, visuals, characters and scope were amazing. This series is quickly becoming an all-time favorite

  • Continuation of the amazing ME. I felt they simplified the RPG elements, but the scope, amazing locations and universe were still there and they took characters in games to a new level. The DLC just made things better and better.

  • Great story telling that didn't need to be cliche

  • Great racing games with just the right balance of arcade/realistic handling. Lots of fun race modes, lots of non-repetitive courses, beautiful graphics and perfect difficulty progression. I'm adding PGR4 because it was the pinnacle of the series, but all the PGR games are fantastic

  • Amazing update to probably my favorite XBL arcade game

  • This is a childhood defining game. Everyone played it, everyone has memories about it. There is perhaps no more iconic item for inducing later childhood nostalgia in me

  • Probably my favorite of all the classic Lucas Arts adventure games that I played. This game had an interesting story, amazing art for the time and some fantastic music that made for a memorable world.

  • Easy to pick up and play. Takes nostalgic gameplay and perfectly applies them to modern day production values.

  • Amazing depth and one of the greatest community created content showcases around. 10 years on and the game is still strong. Probably up beside civ as a game I would choose if stranded on a desert island. Bonus points for having some of the best music in a game.
