I love Drew and wish him the best of luck, but man the whole trend of "Leaving my job and starting a patron to make videos" thing is getting a little old and dicey now. I mean holy shit 16,000 a month already! But eventually that will go down and down and down...

I mean the trouble is making it on Youtube and actually generating revenue from the views is hard. Take Danny for example. He is still bring in over 20k a month (holy cow) but his first big video is still only a little over 780,000 views. I just do not see it as a sustainable model/income. But hey, enjoy the ride and the passion while you can! Hopefully this makes it big. Would be cool to do a major channel big this up or something, even Netflix

But that's why they are doing Patrons though. So the viewcount doesn't actually matter.

Patreon will not last forever. That may be a year or 5. You do not want to be in financial ruin after the well runs dry

You have to use it this day and age. Ads are the number one way for viruses, malware, etc. to get into your computer. Also, most sites are unreadable unless you use one.

It is simple. Either whitelist the sites you want to support or donate. The site will make more money off of a single 5 dollar donation than you suffering through ads for years

Pretty much is DLC. Only difference is you get a figure. Honestly nothing has really been that great with Amiibo unlocks. So far it seems Zelda is the first game people actually care about what the Amiibos do.

I have bought retail copies, such as titanfall 2, when on sale. Yet titanfall 2 had no disc and just a steam code...

Also isn't having discs somewhat faster than downloading? I mean buying Mafia 3 on release day with all that traffic takes a few hours to download. With discs is it not like 10-15 minutes?

@finaldasa False

Nintendo is not dumb. They did the same thing with the Wii. They make less then they should.

The Amiibo thing is the same way. The reason you see so many animal crossing ones is because no one cares about those. They want Mario, Link, etc.

Once again Nintendo makes a choice to be assholes and create a false supply. Just like with Amiibos.

Alas, blame people for being stupid enough to buy it at these prices. I mean good lord, you could easily play all these games for free. Hell, it might be cheaper to just buy a NES and these games on ebay!

Whatever, more will be made and put out.
