  • I pondered if it was cheating to put an expansion on this list. That quickly became irrelevant as I played more of Blood and Wine just because of how good it is. Yes, boiled down to its essence its just more Witcher 3. The rolling plains and turquoise skyline of the Duchy of Toussaint really makes it feel like an adventure all new to Geralt. Both in terms of setting and tone.

  • Very similar to one of my favorite games ever, Muramasa. Odin Sphere is more of absolutely gorgeous 2D action with a ton of content and stuff to do.

  • At its best, its hard to describe DOOM in anyway that isn't simply pure bliss. When it all comes together in the end, that is the gameplay, the music and the incredible renditions of hell few shooters manages to feel as exhilarating as DOOM.

Just remember all caps when you spell the game name.

  • Fuck it, despite the massive gaping flaws that still permeate this mess of a game. Its a beautiful mess, that I just love to spend time with.

  • May very well dethrone Burnout Paradise as my favorite racing game. If the PC port was better, this may even be higher on my list. The map is the best its ever been in a Horizon game, especially with the variety that the previous games kind of lacked in that sense. The driving is still just as good as ever and the types of races allow so much customization and you can really just race in the way you want, where you want.

  • Big and dumb, but in a way lost some of the appeal of the old games. Its still fantastic especially the way it focuses on replay value in every aspect of its design.

  • Far too few games work with colors in meaningful ways. What really pulls me in most here is the supernova of bright, contrasting colors that infuse every little aspect of the game. The combat is also smartly executed and the soundtrack is just cool.

  • This game is just a lot of fun to play. Its quick, simple and just lends itself to moments of absolute hilarity.

  • This game really doesn't do anything wrong, its simply that the magic of Dark Souls is finally starting to wear thin. I still enjoyed it a whole lot. The world design alone in these games is by itself enough for me to come back.

  • Despite eventually feeling a bit burned out on it. The months after the initial release had me obsessed. Other games ceased to exist for a few months there.
