I have never been into the ME series, not really the patience for how big the games are, but this looks bad.

I mean, it looks great. But I get hung up on things like bad dialogue and animations. And this seems to have that in spades. I get people are able to look past things like that for the gameplay (which isn't doing much for me) but a lot of this looks half baked. The way she commentates on everything and when you come across an obstacle she just outright says so and the robot tells you what to do. It feels like pandering. And whoever that evil lady is sounds straight from a Nickeleodon show

This is really good.

Great job with the editing! That must have been a nightmare to do.

Thrilled to see it getting a positive reception. Shadow of the Colossus is one of my all time favs. Now to contemplate getting a PS4.....

Devil Daggers is so good. Turns out the game actually has killer music if you stay there long enough

I also really dig how Metroid Prime's title screen is inside a metroid

@zurv: I just wish I could change the loadout at the main menu, before jumping into a game at all. I can't think of a reason not to have this.

I had never really played a Battlefield game, but I was in the mood for a good shooter a month or so back, and bought BF4 when it was on sale for cheap. Playing around in the test range was fun, getting used to things. But the actual multiplayer was chaotic and felt way out of my league. So much future tech and things to keep track of. Then by some good luck the BF1 demo was out not long after, so I decided to try it out. I ended up enjoying it FAR more. The scaled back, much more simple approach to the combat (just shooty guns, not super future tech) was much more appealing to me, reminding me of older WWII games like Medal of Honor and Call of Duty. I ended getting real into it, much more than I was expecting. A lot of people complained about Sinai but I grew to like it. Sure it was sniper hell, but I liked playing as a scout too so it worked out haha. Once they unlocked all the weapons at the end of the Beta I tried out the other classes and ended up really enjoying playing as medic. Felt good being one of the few people who actually tried reviving people. And the medic gun feels good to use.

Playing the 10 hour trial on origin only cemented this feeling. I really like most of the maps, with Fao Fortress being the stand out one that I really don't like. Every time I play it it just feels like a dredge. It's the only map I actively left when it came up in the rotation because I was never having fun on it.

The game is damn gorgeous and has outstanding sound design. The guns feel good to use, the vehicles are a blast, even if I am just some grunt manning a gun. Planes are crazy, maybe one day I will be able to use one without immediately crashing it, but until then I am fine on the ground. The single player seems really well made, but the draw for me is still the multiplayer. I remember loving Battlefront 2 because I felt like I was in the middle of a huge battle instead of just one of few people duking it out. This game finally recaptures that for me.

As for complaints, some interface stuff could be better. Why can't I edit my loadout anywhere but in game? There is even a Soldier menu option, but that is just stats. Really bizarre. I know BF4 had the web page you had to load from which was insane. Hope they are ditching that. I think there was more I was unhappy with, but really they are nitpicks. I just want to play more now.

Wish people would give medics a chance to revive them. Especially on Team Deathmatch where it's arguably more important. Come on idiots, I am right on god damn top of you and you just spam respawn.

Just beat it yesterday and Holy Moly that true final boss was an unexpected change. The run up to it was insane. Clocked in around 10 hours according to steam, most of that being constantly failing the later levels. The difficulty curve is rough and could certainly turn some people away. It basically changes from a cool fun timing based rhythm game to an exhilarating, trial-and-error game. Some turns feel like there was no way I could have seen coming. Nonetheless, I still love the game.

I did a rerun of level 1 and still got low 100k, even though I only missed the S rank on a few sections, so I have no idea how people are getting the high scores they are. I understand there are combos and perfect timings and such, but to outright double to score that I got is something I just don't see how it's done. I will be replaying levels more though, not for the score but for the fun. What a great game, easily in my top 5 for the year.

The game eventually shifts into trial-and-error, with a lot of turns coming so fast there is no way you have time to process them. But I found myself being able to recognize them after they happen the first time in a level. Although it likes to throw a LOT at you very fast, it never really tries to trick you, and it each level reuses certain strings of obstacles (beats? notes?) so you can start to sense the patterns. That said, I will never ever S rank anything beyond level 2 if I even bother, but I will absolutely love watching someone else do it. That game is almost as fun to watch as it is to play.
