As someone who has all the current gen consoles (except Nintendo Switch) I always felt disappointed in this console generation with the lack of games. Yes, there were good games that have came out, some of the best ever. 2016 was a good year for games but I always felt bummed out when I completed a game because there were gaps between games to play. Until 2017 happened, and it all happened exclusively on the PS4.

April 4th, 2017 marks the release of Persona 5, and makes it the 12th exclusive title (including a couple titles also on the PC) to PS4 with a Metacritic score of 80 or higher since January 20th.

Playtation 4 exclusives since Jan. 20th.

DateTitle NameAvg. Score
Jan. 20Gravity Rush 2 80

Jan. 24

Tales of Berseria 79
Jan. 24Yakuza 0 85
Feb. 7Nioh 88
Feb. 21Night in the Woods (PS4, PC) 87
Feb. 28Horizon: Zero Dawn 89
Mar. 7NIeR: Automata (PS4, PC) 89
Mar. 14Danganronpa 1-2 Reload 82
Mar. 24Zero Escape: The Nonary Games (PS4, PC) 88
Mar. 28MLB The Show 17 85
Mar. 28Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 +11.5 Remix84
Apr. 4Persona 594

It could be all the games coming out now and then have no other exclusives for the rest of the year. But if 2017 keeps this up, this is the year to get a PS4.

I don't know about anyone else, but this seems, imo, the best few months of exclusive titles I have ever seen, perhaps even too much have came out.

Anyone else know of a time like this that was just exclusive after another worth trying?

Sadly when you ask this type of question at group of people or forum, your going to end up with a million different answers. Therefore the only logical answer is to just buy them all!

Short and sweet thought on what to buy:

FFVI: the epiphany of the 2D Final Fantasies.

FFVIII: gets VERY weird. I enjoyed the story and the characters. The Junction system is unique in any RPG imo

FFIX: 3D Final Fantasy that goes back to its original roots.(i.e setting, mages, ect.)

Final Fantasy Origins: The first 2 games of a series that spawned 15 sequels!

Final Fantasy Tatics: If you enjoy games like Fire Emblem, this would be a must have.

The rest are really if you want to try them, there all good in their own way. The FFXIII ones I would not go for unless/until you play FFXIII.

So I'm the kind of person who would just rather have a physical copy of a game. I do live in a smaller city with not the best internet and just don't enjoy waiting 8 hours, bogging down my internet while PSN downloads a game.

Today I went out to buy the game and everywhere is sold out.. Only one gamestop in my area has a copy. The 4 closest Wal-Marts are sold out, and the Target near me is also sold out. Amazon is also sold out telling me the estimated shipping is 1-2 months. This game isn't THAT popular is it? Has anyone else see this issue in their area?

Isn't that what you're doing now though? Either way, I haven't really picked up on a heavy political theme in any Giant Bomb content. Maybe I just missed it.

I'm with tothenine and should not have said anything. I misspoke and I apologize.

@rongalaxy: I do lol. I realized it before I posted it, but just let it through. And in a way it was more directed at myself than others. My point is that whenever something politically happens, people are going to be sensitive about their political point of view. I just choose to stay way from it, and I stay away from it even if I agree to it.

I unsubscribed when this site and some of its staff got way too lefty political for me being comfortable with it all. But it's interesting seeing it from the other side and how little content there is, but it's cool the endurance runs are still free! And I can always watch those over and over.

I didn't want to say it, but yes that is kinda a case that I didn't just go ahead and resubbed as well. I haven't listened to the last few podcasts, idk if they went that way in those or not.

I really like this game. It has issues, but if they update it and nurture it like SE did for Final Fantasy Records Keeper, that game will be a really solid mobile game for the next couple years. There's one issue I think they will never be able to change though and that's the fact that when I play it, I just want to get my 3DS and play a real Fire Emblem....

I was a subscriber from 2010 up until about a month ago due to job loss 4 months ago and trying to cut down on money spending. I gotta say the unsubscribers section of videos is abysmal to say the least. Out of 25 videos from the front page currently. I can view 5 of them.. 3 quick looks, and 2 podcasts, that's it.

@willyod: dunno how it would work but I'd also everyone and then. If it helps the fan base grow and let's them experience this wonderful world then sure! They really could implement a trial system, something like watch two free vids or something, but I guess they do have free UPF's everynow and then

What the site looks like for unsubscribed people currently will NOT grow the fan base IMO. People want to be impressed by the video content and the personalities. Unless they are coming from the podcast, people will not be able to see that without a subscription at all. If I was a unaware of anyone from the staff, coming to Giantbomb for the first time and saw 70%+ of the content is behind a pay wall, It would be hard for me to come back to the site. Quick Looks could maybe give people that are not familiar with the crew their personalities, but its a quick look, they can go to youtube and see a QL for free which makes it not a very good driving force to get people to subscribe. The site without a subscription is not a good first look at all.

That's just my two cents in it, being unsubbed sucks, and I probably would not have came back if I wasn't a subscriber before.

I know some people that have commented are not subbed for some good and logical reasons. My thoughts are from someone that comes to the site, wanting to be entertained by people I enjoy watching.

After reading all the posts. I really wonder if the Switch was originally suppose to be a new Nintendo handheld. I'm sure they have had plans for the Switch for years and was going to be a compliment for the WiiU. A replacement for the WiiU controller that you can actually take on the go. However because of the lackluster sales of the WiiU, it was decided to design the Switch for a multipurpose machine.

Nintendo does know how to support their handhelds. People complaining about battery life should wait, the battery life of the 3DS was not great at the start either. There will be revisions that will make it more powerful, longer battery life, ect. They always do.

The games WILL come. Pokemon, Metroid, Mario, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade, all on ONE console. And that's just to name a few that will eventually come out to the system. The system will sell, just because of all the first party games. The handheld portion of the system is the strong point, Nintendo supports it and people buy it. If it's as easy as they claim it is to port games over. You will see 3rd party games on it. Nintendo handhelds DON'T fail.
