@frytup: Regarding your comment on the US educational system, that's a good point that Dan is from Kansas. From the outside (also CA) it appears that the state has not made much progress past the days of Brown V BOE.
For the people not in the US, I know it's easy to make fun of a number of very poor systems (accurately), but this country is the same size as Europe. We have a similar amount of regional diversity in our educational systems; imagine Florida or Kansas are Slovakia or Kosovo, and California and New York are the UK or Germany.
Man, I cannot imagine attending elementary school in the modern US and NOT KNOWING WHAT GRAVITY IS. I've not felt the sting of Austin's departure more keenly than I did at the end of this video.
Good job as always Vinny and Alex. I echo other sentiments that Alex is often correct, just may not be sure of himself.
@screwymaverick: That'd be pretty nifty, but I don't think Lang needs two more executives. Now, JV and Adam ending up somewhere together...that seems imminently possible given the timing.
@assirra: I was just comparing their adoption rate against the US, the UK, and France. The US is sitting at around 4.5% per citizen, the UK was at about 5%, and France was around 4%. Japan was about 2.5%. Those numbers aren't as good as I would like tho, since Japan's demographics skew heavily old (over 50% of their population is over 46 years old!), and their household composition is also different.
If you are right and Japanese people are waiting for a single massive game on the PS4 that seems fair, there hasn't yet been anything on the system that has compelled me (I play primarily on the PC, with an Xbone for the MS exclusives that I like). I really dig Persona tho, been loving Tokyo Mirage Sessions. Mebbe that will take it over the top.
@assirra: You are absolutely correct about Japan having more physical meetups to play monster hunter (and I assume other games), but I would be curious why you believe they own consoles in spades. The PS4 has not really taken off over there as much as it has in the US and Europe, the Xbox has never been a thing, and I feel you only need to look at how inept Japanese developers are when presented with developing for the PC to get a feel for how little PC gaming is a part of the culture.
@ares42: Japanese people are who cares about Monster Hunter, and Japanese people don't own consoles. Also, Capcom is in the position that MH is what is keeping their lights on, they have to have each rehash sell as much as possible. If they have a version on the NX, I suspect it won't be near launch given the likely small install base for the first couple years. Mebbe Citra will be a bit more prime time by next year's release.
@ripelivejam: I believe the idea was that so much of these games is the silly minutiae, and for somebody that was unaware of that fact this video could be instructive.
Oh god, I want Bloodstained to be good, but this team really isn't making a great name for themselves. If bloodstained turns out bad it will be my first kickstarted game failure.
