@Gamer_152
Well of course the name doesn't affect the product. I never said the actual products were awful, but that the names were silly. And yes this didn't have too much to do with E3, it was more of a jokey sort of thing, and I didn't intend for it to be taken seriously. Thanks for your input though.

Well E3 has been over for nearly a month now and I am still trying to get my head around what happened. Lots of lovely new games have been announced or further explained, but I am simply unable to think about all that since I am still trying to grasp what E3 is all about.

As far as I've seen with Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft they didn't do press conferences and instead took part in the "Who can think of the silliest name for their product competition" for the past few years.

Nintendo took the title 5 years ago with their Wii and reigned as the champion for a fair amount of time until microsoft's motion control project was announced. Project Natal won the competition and the next year microsoft made the name even sillier by calling it the Kinect.

Sony, during these periods of time, were of course losing everytime since their corporate staff's emotions only run on money and they apparantly weren't getting enough. Instead they named the products the PS3 and the PSP 3000. Very ****ing original.

It is becaus of Sony's past that I was so surprised they came up up with a contender this year that was more than a match for the silliness of the Kinect. They called their replacement of the PSP 3000, the PS Vita. Now that is a silly name. Microsoft did very poorly this year and stuck to it's champion so much so that they talked about it for the majority of the ****ing show and they, therefore, didn't put out anything new.

I thought Sony would win hands down, I mean, the PS vita is an incredibly silly name and yet I forgot about Nintendo. The company who named the 3 year champion of the title. How could I have forgotten about them? Never mind though, they've made sure I'll never forget again with their new console; the Wii U. Nintendo's Wii U completely obliterated Sony's chance of winning this year and for good reason. It is the most ridiculous name for a product and even saying it sounds silly.

So congratulations to Nintendo, you silly mother****ers

Very true.
Although I am part of the same generation of gamers, I have always wondered why people think the sun shines out of the arse of any game that has "Call of Duty"  within the title.
There has been barely any innovation in gaming today as developers realise that most gamers are stupid and will therefore buy anything, thus allowing them to put minimum effort into their games, i.e. two of the only things I (and most players) really liked was Spec Ops and Zombies, so you'd think treyarch would put both of them together in their most recent game, especially since there was enough space on this disk to throw a keg party since they only bother to put a 6 hr story and multiplayer on it, but nooooooooo, they just put Zombies on it. This is simply a pure act of lazyness.
I can't wait to play DNF.
We may finally play a FPS with a bit of substance.

@Ahmad_Metallic: ok, you make a good argument but i'm still not forking out a f*ckload of money to buy one, i have no problems with the pc, i'd rather just use it for it's internet capabilities than gaming,  also i don't think i'd ever get used to the pc keyboard controls and i'll probably be bankrupt by the time i will have gotten it so no extra cash for a pc controller no matter how cheap i can find one

@Ahmad_Metallic: thing is most of the games released these days would give my pc a hernia, and the highly upgraded ones are a waste of money in my opinon because a) the graphics will out-date and b) i have a perfectly good ps3 to use
however i most certainly agree with your views on 3D and the fact that real gaming will soon fade
3D is just being milked not only on video games but also on every other bloody movie hollywood releases
however, i don't think we should be too afraid of change in the gaming industry but almost certainly try to resist it
hence the blog post
