Happy to see you're enjoying it thus far. My family was also financially unstable so I always had a console on the next cycle (pretty smart of my dad, I thought). I grew up playing video games alongside my dad, but FFX is what really got me into games. Like, sent me over the edge with hundreds of hours trying to unlock everything.

Anyway, the story is certainly something. Excited to see how it pans out for you.

Also, I really liked blitzball. But a la the question on the recent Beastcast, that would be one of those things I'm oddly good at.

Glad to see you are enjoying this new series. Blitzball... is indicative of a recent development in the Final Fantasy franchise I actively dislike. Every game needs to hide cool and interesting spells, items, and/or costumes behind busy work. Maybe you are willing to defend Blitzball, but I am almost entirely no one is going to defend those God awful Temple puzzles. I feel there's other examples of gamplay distractions getting in the way of player enjoyment in Final Fantasy X, and I have been warned I have yet to see the worse the game has to offer.

Nope, Blitzball is a hell of a grind at best. I was about 14 or 15 when I played FFX (which was a couple years after it'd already come out), and I remember just really enjoying Wakka's character. Don't get me wrong, the accent is weird but he was this very positive sincere character who I was genuinely happy to have in my party. So, when it came to the whole Luca ordeal, I made sure I was going to win. I was lucky enough to get it on my 2nd or 3rd try thankfully. Since I had done that, my thinking was, well, I can't have them win the tournament and then not play Blitzball ever again right? And then went down a rabbit hole... Oh, also, I wanted all the ultimate weapons. In my opinion, Wakka's was not the worst one to get.

The first couple weeks will be rough leading up to finals (student/employed full time) but before I know it I'll have evenings to myself and Persona. Looking forward to it.

I don't like spending money on drinking pennies, so I instead opted for a pack of budlight beer-itas which are a guilty pleasure of mine.

I actually had a lot of similar parts for my build last month.

With the cooler, for mine the instruction booklet that came with was wrong. As in, it had the parts reversed and mislabeled. We ended up having to completely take off the cooler twice. Luckily, I bought additional thermal paste.

I would also second that you could save some money with your PSU, and upgrade your GPU. I was able to get my 1080 for $~500 during a superbowl sale but the price has dropped now.

For the case, I bought a Fractal Design midtower case. Has more than enough room and comes with additional fans already installed in a push-pull fashion. It was about $10 more than the case you have.

Good luck!

I'm 27 and although I'm (recently) married, have a few friends who have yet to be on a date and others who are just starting out. It's not so rare, so don't let that notion dampen your confidence.

One of the best pieces of advice I heard on danswers was from the ever-wise (or something) Dan Ryckert. I remember him saying that for the first date he'd typically take girls to this bar he really enjoyed, and if they heavily complained about it, then clearly they weren't right for him.

Basically, be yourself, be honest about the things you like. If someone has a significant dislike of your hobbies or wants to change you then clearly theyre not right for you. Make sure you have a decent idea of what you want, and if there's any red flags, don't ignore them.
