I really enjoyed The Punisher on Netflix and The Boys on Amazon, but they are both pretty dark and violent. I don't really have any suggestions if you're looking for lighter stuff.

That's me. If one of the games was something I wanted to play immediately, I'd pay the $12 for access and then cancel the membership. Since 2017, it looks like that has happened roughly 4 times.

I am absolutely not interested in paying for an ongoing subscription and a bunch of games that I'll never play. It sounds like most of the 3-10 games are still a mystery too, right? You pay and then you pick from what they offer? In that case, I'll go ahead and double down on not being interested.

If they promote and reveal some of each month's choices, however, $15 doesn't sound so bad for a game that I definitely want and two more that I might try at some point. $3 more than what it used to be? Eh. Not the end of the world.

As a final thought, that Lite plan looks ridiculous. Is that for people that just want to spend money on...nothing?

I've just been operating under the assumption that she's still alive or will be "reborn" as a new siren. I guess I haven't really thought about it too much. I think I'll hold off until all the DLC is out to really decide what I think of it. If she's really, truly gone, then I agree that was kind of a crummy way to end her story.

I jumped right in to TVHM and haven't regretted it. FYI, all your map progress carries over and you can read the logs right away, so clearing the maps 100% as you go shouldn't be a problem if that's what you're shooting for. Also, be sure to turn on Mayhem 1 at least - I wasn't sure what to expect, but it's changed things up in a neat way - encouraging me to use different guns and stuff.

Different strokes for different folks and all that...

But I'm having a hard time understanding map complaints. The minimap does exactly what it's supposed to do - help you quickly and easily pinpoint nearby enemies, collectibles, and waypoints. I think the main map is fantastic - it allows for fast travel from anywhere (even back to your vehicle), it shows multiple elevations clearly, it fills in locations that have been explored, and it allows zooming/rotation for whatever you might be looking for. I have not felt lost or confused even once during the whole campaign.

Writing is of course subjective, but I think it's fine. I'm glad that it doesn't take itself too seriously. I like the characters and I'm interested to see what happens as the story progresses. As somebody else noted above, I don't play this game for some kind of artsy, high-brow take on the human condition.

It's fairly clear that I'm in the minority here, but this is my game of the year. I love everything about it.

In my experience (American English), a cross is always +, and × is never referred to as a cross. However I believe in other countries this may differ. e.g., I think in the UK tic-tac-toe is called "noughts and crosses".

Interesting. The + would be 'plus' to me. The only symbol I associate with the word "cross" has religious implications, and I'm not even religious.

On-topic, it's definitely the "X" button.

Well, I watched less than a minute of the video, but I can say that I appreciate what appears to be a more realistic direction for the franchise. Set up your Corvette with an absolutely idiotic camber.....immediately start losing.

Seriously though, I have little to no interest in this, and I'll probably just stick with Horizon.

I'm a customer/consumer just like you, but I support EGS. It gets me free games every week. There might be legitimate reasons not to support EGS, but that doesn't matter to me. And I bet I'm not the only one. If we outnumber you, you'll just have to admit defeat and watch how we idiots destroy gaming.

You're not. I've purchased one game on Epic and pre-ordered another...and I have 20+ games in my library. I really couldn't care less what problems other people have with the store - it has worked fine for me and I've gotten a bunch of free games. If the entire industry collapses as a result, oh well. I'll find something more productive to do with my time.

On topic, the reaction to this exclusivity announcement has been inexcusable. The devs released a poorly thought-out statement/response, but it shouldn't really matter what they say/do; the consumer's choice is to buy the product or not. Anything beyond that is completely inappropriate. Pissed about their business decision? Don't buy the game. Shut up. Move on.

Outer Wilds. Everybody was raving about it on release, and I just don't really understand the hype. I keep thinking I should go back and give it another try because it's frustrating me that I can't pinpoint exactly what I didn't like. Unfortunately, I think it just didn't click.

Should've included a "none" option. I voted Deathloop because of the developer, but I really don't remember anything about any of those games, and there's too much on my plate already to get psyched up for stuff that I know nothing about.

First, I love it that the OP says to list just one book and the first reply is a list of 9 titles. LOL.

Anyway, it's been a while, but I liked The Dark Half a lot.
