GTA 4: I was just playing around with one of the motorcycles, seeing how far I could weave through traffic at full speed before I crashed, and I hit the concrete side of a small set of stairs that led up to a door. It was just taller than the height of the bike, so it ended up being like a small wall, and the bike came to an instant stop. I flew forward off the bike and through the air for a good two or three blocks in a big arc, landed on the roof of a random building, and survived. Me and my friend couldn't stop laughing.

@ProfessorEss: I had one of my upper front teeth (the sharper ones that look the most like a fang) way up further than the rest of the teeth, and the shape of my upper teeth was starting to move into a concave shape. And a crossbite.

I got braces at the age of 22 this March, and the orthodontist said it would be a treatment of around six months (I had had braces when I was younger and my teeth went back). I was really worried about getting them back on because 1: because who wants to get braces when they are a senior in college, 2: It's going to set me back in some of the things in my personal relationships (I'm pretty introverted, so that plus being self-conscious about braces means it takes me a long time to get comfortable with people), and 3: I have to start an internship soon and I really didn't want to be doing it with braces.

Well my next appointment is coming up mid-October, basically seven months in, and I'm worried about what could be next. This last appointment he checked my teeth, screwed some stuff on the brackets, and then told me I would have to wear one rubber band that hooks on my bottom left, goes up and around my upper front teeth, and then hooks on my bottom right. It's like a trapezoid shape, and feels like I'm wearing a muzzle. I was hoping this could mean that I'm getting down to the end and he's just fine tuning, but I'm worried because my ortho never said anything like that, he just said "wear this, 24/7, and I'll see you in 8-10 weeks," which is the regular time between appointments.

So I'm asking anyone who has had or has braces, how long did the elastics take once you started them?

I'll stick with my female Shepard. It's about time they gave a default female as detailed as the male Shepard, but with the way Bioware wants players to have a personal connection with their character/story this is kinda useless for those who primarily play as a female.

I really liked The Fall of Reach. I've actually liked all the Halo novels so far, the universe is really interesting outside of the game story lines. Be warned though, The Flood (the next book in the series) is basically the first Halo game retold, I still enjoyed it though.

Side note: I hate bad video game adaptations as much as the next person, but I was disappointed when I heard that the Peter Jackson Halo movie was shelved for budget problems, because from what I had heard it was supposed to be based on the Fall of Reach novel!

I think I've gotten the gist that the actual scene in the game isn't as sensational as Sterling originally said, but what disturbs me more is the people in this thread who just play off actual rape as not that bad.

People are pretty desensitized to violence in media, and I can understand that we may not be as desensitized to depictions of sexual assault (and I hope we NEVER EVER are), but as someone who has had to help very close friends who have been impacted both physically and mentally in some way by sexual assault, hearing its something you just "get over" is pretty offensive to me.
