I tried Katamari for the first time last year and found it wasn't for me (although I think it's great that it exists). That said, I recently discovered a game I'd never heard of before called Tornado Outbreak that is similar, only instead of a giant rolling ball of random stuff you're a tornado that has to destroy things to get bigger. You start small, only able to suck up small things and gradually you get bigger and bigger until eventually you're tearing down buildings. There's an extra wrinkle to the timed element too as certain objects or buildings contain these things called Fire Flyers, and you need to try and collect as many as possible in a combo in order to extend the time limit. It's not as quirky as Katamari, but it's still fun, and actually gets pretty difficult towards the end. I'd say it's worth checking out if you enjoy the gameplay of Katamari.
And yeah. Been considering grabbing Remnant for a while. In theory it is right up my alley (souls-ish game with guns in a post apocalyptic world with time loops) but it sounds like a LOT of the encounters/rooms are heavily geared toward coop and I tend to prefer these games solo on my first playthrough.
It's mostly the bosses that can be frustrating to fight by yourself (at least on the first playthrough) when you don't have anyone to help manage the constantly spawning adds. Aside from that, I had a good time playing solo.
@iambombay: Tried to send you a PM with a code but you have it set to block from people you're not following. Can you set it to allow everyone temporarily? Or I guess you could just follow me and then unfollow after I send you the code.
