I finished Control the other day and the end credits song is a real banger:

Fear of A Blank Planet by Porcupine Tree:

Loading Video...

It's hard to say why exactly, but I feel like certain songs just really work as an end credits song. It might not even be a song that you'd listen to normally, but it fits really well as closure for the game you just finished. I remember thinking the same thing about the songs at the end of Dishonored and Driver San Francisco.

What are some of your favourites?

I'm getting the Series X this fall if i can find it. I don't play many video games anymore at all, so having EA Play, Games with Gold and all the Game Pass games included under Ultimate means there is a pretty good chance I won't buy a single video game the entire next generation.

Occasionally I pick up Madden and the new Assassins Creed game so now I'm pretty much just picking up Assassins Creed if it's a setting I enjoy.

You do you of course, but I'm struggling to follow your logic on this one. You don't play games much any more, so you're going to buy the most expensive Xbox available and pay a monthly subscription fee for a service that gives you access to lots of games?

I seems insane to me that some people expect it,

I am 100% with you on this. And I doubt there is any normal consumer that expects it either. These systems are already going to cost quite a bit in the middle of a bad economy. There is no reason to drive up cost(yes, it would drive up the cost) for a feature that a very small percentage of the userbase will use.

That's where I'm at with it as well. I'm almost surprised to see more than one other person echoing this sentiment on here because it's always seemed like I'm very much an outlier in my opinion about backwards compatibility. It's a nice to have for sure, but I think it's unreasonable to expect it, even one generation, unless the architectures are similar enough that it can be done without driving up the cost of what is already going to be an expensive piece of hardware. And to me, the idea that they should include backwards compatibility all the way back to the PS1 is, frankly, ludicrous. I also seriously question how many people would actually use the feature on a consistent basis (not many, if I had to guess).

I was trying to think, was it PS1 games being playable on the PS2 that started the whole backwards compatibility train to begin with? I feel like until that point it was just accepted that when a new console came along, you moved on to a new generation of games, and if you wanted to play the older ones you used the older system. Simpler times!

Can't say I did - I must have always been too distracted thinking the side profile of Snake kinda looks like Dan lol

I'm having a real hard time trying to parse how "Arespear" is supposed to be pronounced. Am I missing an obvious play on words or something?

I feel like a well-aimed blast from that electricity shotgun weapon that you get fairly early on could hit that one red bulb and you'd be out of there.

That was it! Thank you!

I had only played it for about 2 hours before switching to another game for a few days and then coming back to it after (which apparently was enough time for me to forget some important stuff!)

@therealturk: I have that but it doesn't seem to have any effect on that particular wall.

I got this free on the Epic game store a while back and finally decided to give it a shot. I'm still early, but I think I might have accidentally boned myself by leaving an area before I was meant to and now I can't get back.

Given that this game is 5 years old I'm not sure how much people are going to remember, but I figure it's worth asking.

So here's the problem:

For some reason (I really don't remember why!), after beating the boss in Absu, I didn't finish exploring the area before I left, and now I can't find an accessible route back to it.

In the first screen shot below, the red arrow is where I need to get back to, and as far as I can tell the only way to get there is via the bottom route where the yellow arrow is. The problem is, access to the vertical room that leads to that lower path (my current position in the screenshot) is blocked - the pink energy barrier things are up on both sides and I don't have a way to hit the switches (see second screenshot). I feel like this might be what's gone wrong. Should both of those barriers still be up if I already went through that room? (Also, for anyone wondering, that exit at the top that I haven't taken yet is inaccessible from the left due to a glitched out wall that I can't pass (see third screenshot)

Either I'm missing something, or I've managed to break it somehow and I'm SOL. It hasn't really grabbed me so far anyway, I just wanted to give it a bit longer because people say it gets good later on. But if this is going to require starting over to fix I'm just going to skip it and move onto something else.
