@animasta: Well then that is your prefered method and I won't begrudge you for it. I do that as well, but I also like seeing AJ's thoughts on it.

Also also, thanks for including subsciber numbers... You do know Fred has a lot of subscribers, yeah? So does Totalbiscuit and all those other stupid youtube personalities. If subscriber numbers matter than pack it in let's all go to IGN, but they don't. Something can be super popular and still be, I dunno, stupid!

Your cute snarkiness is really starting to grow on me. I wasn't trying to make a point about numbers, in fact I don't recall including a single number in there. My point was that if he truly was a one note, dumb shtick, he would probably not be doing that well. But fair counter point. If that is the correct term for it. Stupid things definitely can get popular. But "stupid" is a pretty general term and can be applied to anything and anyone for any reason you feel. AJ can be stupid, I agree. Giantbomb can be stupid as well. Stupid in what way is what matters I guess. You aren't a superior person for liking a different kind of stupid more.

I've been seeing and hearing from the gaming community about how badly some new games run on those systems since around 2010/2011. That, along with the fact that GTAV is advertised as Rockstar's biggest most technically-advanced title to date, raises the question: how is it even possible for GTAV to run on the old consoles well? Rockstar's biggest game coming out on the current gen two months before the new gen?!

How is it possible for the biggest open world Rockstar ever made with crazy advanced tech, new mechanics, graphics, jets and underwater exploration, to run on the consoles where Far Cry 3, Saints Row IV and a myriad of new games have been confirmed to look like crap and dip in the FPS so low that they occasionally turned into slideshows? I mean technically speaking, SR4 doesn't hold a candle to how big and goodlooking GTAV looks. Think about that for a second.

Regardless of next-gen versions or a PC version, this game will release on the current gen and people will buy it. So am I crazy or is the only realistic expectation that GTAV will run absolutely horrendously on the 360 and PS3?

Basically, this makes as much sense as inFamous Second Son running on PS3 or Ryse running on 360..

If you're a console owner, what are your realistic expectations for GTAV? Anyone not buying it because they're kinda sure it won't run well?

I take it you don't really play consoles, especially considering you think Far Cry 3 and Saints Row 4 look like crap and run like slideshows? Seriously? Playing through Far Cry 3 I can tell you it looked really good. Of course not as good as PC, but saying it's crap is ridiculous. Run like slideshows? I have very VERY rarely had that happen to any games. Framerate issues usually aren't that apparent to me, but maybe I just tune them out like a console pleb.

Being Rockstar I'm going to assume they aren't lying when they say it runs fine on consoles. Fine is obviously a subjective term, so I will probably deal with any minor issues better then those who except top tier PC quality for everything. Unless it is utterly in shambles I will have hours of fun with this game until multiplayer comes up, in which I will have hours more fun with it with friends. That is my expectation for this game.

EDIT: Reading through the forum I noticed someone said GTA4 ran like crap on console? Which I would strongly argue against. I played through the entire story, and then hours of multiplayer and was never bothered by bad performance. At least not enough to remember it. You should really try the actual games on the actual consoles before accepting what these people say as true. And also reanalyze what is "crap" to you. GTA4 may have been crap to some, but it was easily playable and fun for me. I'm guessing it's going to be the same for GTA5 in which there are those who say it runs like crap and I will have no issue.

I have always found it funny how hated he always is on these forums, though. It's cute.

If it's not Giant Bomb, chances are, people here will always blindly hate it.

or he could be... severely annoying to a significant portion of the forums because his schtick is one note and tiring?

oh wait no it's obviously because he's just not giant bomb.

I'm much more inclined to believe garfield. I'm definitely getting a feeling that its because it's not the mellow giantbomb vibe(which sometimes borders on apathetic). I love giantbomb, and I love angry joe. Sometimes I like Angry Joe more.

*Initiate Defensive Fanboy Mode*

It's a matter of taste. If you want people to sit around and say "meh it'll get fixed later I'm sure" then that is your thing. I'm glad Joe is out there and is passionate about the games he likes. The frustration people have with these horrible, horrible games and game releases is shown through these videos. I will happily choose his shtick(which is as much an act as it is true frustration) over Giantbomb reviews. There I said it. That's speaking from years of experience with both. Almost every review he does is of a game he wants to do well. If they do well he won't be pissed at all. It's the bad ones that get the (well deserved) anger thrown at them. Rome 2 Total War is one of those cases.

Joe is almost the opposite of what I see at Giantbomb, so yes I would say it is pretty obvious the hate stems from that. Saying his "shtick" is one note and tiring is purely subjective. Don't pretend otherwise. He wouldn't have had a following(that is growing) for this long if that were true.

One might also attempt to enter the Meat Dimension.

That gave me a very good laugh.

@chaser324: Sorry about that. But I did get an invite, like DharmaBum said so it's all good. Thank you, by the way. I'll see you guys in October when multiplayer is up!

For anyone who's going to pre-order this on PC, I have two words for you:

"Remember SimCity"

Don't let EA burn you again.

Probably the worst burn I've ever been through, I'm definitely weary of EA. Then again I'm not planning on getting BF4 for awhile. Saving it for a new console because that's the way I've grown accustomed to playing multiplayer FPS games. I'm also a bit disappointed after reading what the OP had to say, but I guess what can you expect? BF3 has been an amazing experience for me, for a plethora of reasons. So if Dice/EA don't want to change it up too much I guess I'm alright with that.

I would say the fact that you even know what Deadman Wonderland is means you watch too much.

I would say he had a rough start. But hey, at least he didn't watched Gantz. Oh god, that show is so bad... so bad...

@bam_boozilled: Hey man, swing by if you want to. Anime Discussion Thread III

I might take you up on that. I've been looking for some new shows to watch seeing as the one I'm watching now is ending. Judging from other people I'm missing out on some good ones.

Haven't gotten the game yet, but I've definitely been thinking about it. If I'm going to pick a faction I want to stick with it for the long haul. Unlike my Medieval 2 where I play a faction for 100 turns then lose the save or switch.

Rome seems like the obvious choice, and I'll want to play it at some point. I feel like that is the safest, but most common faction. Like England in Med 2. And for some reason I really don't want to play the faction everyone else plays.

The Greek City States in Rome 1 were my favorite(Armored Hoplites were legendary), and to this day are the only faction I've fully conquered the map with for any Total War game. Unfortunately that means paying an extra 8 dollars because I didn't preorder.

@kidavenger: I think I tried watching Cowboy Beebop when it was on adult swim Toonami, but it was somewhere randomly in the middle of the series and I didn't watch much of it. Same with Fullmetal Alchemist. Which I'm starting to watch on Netflix.

That being said I don't expect anyone to take my word for taste in anime. That's what you guys are for.
