I am now wondering if Andromeda is the story of a final contingency to the Reaper threat. In case all else failed (and the track record of success for the Reapers is pretty good), civilization of some sort would continue in another galaxy separate from the 50,000 year cycle. Sounds like Shep knew about it and was there to give a final goodbye anyways.

Nailed it. I like this idea. Import your ME3 save, and the game begins with your Shepard giving this speech to the crew of the colony ship. Then there's a cutscene of a wicked space battle where the colony ship barely escapes the clutches of the Reapers. Fast forward to the arrival at Andromeda, and title card.

PS: I played through the entire trilogy more than once as both ManShep and FemShep. ManShep is good, but FemShep is better. She's my Shepard.

Super fun episode!

One other way to to the caravan quest is to just book it to the west side of the airport where the truck is waiting for the tanks, hop over the fence and Fulton it the moment the skulls pop out, then just book it out of there.

Yup, that's exactly what I did. After the Skulls popped out I was between them and the truck, and I just froze for a second not knowing what to do. They didn't notice me right away so I fultoned the truck and then hauled ass on D-Horse.

This was the first mission I S-ranked on the first try!

Help us @brad, you're our best hope to get this series back on track! It's headed to a dark place, and we need your Light!

[...] Drew has openly expressed hating open world games and doesn't seem to approach most games with a sense of discovery (maybe why he's really into regimented sims with specific instructions). He certainly doesn't play Metal Gear like that. It's why he hasn't done any side ops or tapes, nearly ten hours in. He sticks to a routine and will stay in his comfort zone if left to his own devices. [...]

I wasn't aware of the fact that Drew doesn't like open world games. That explains a lot of what feels wrong about this series, and why he's playing it like a regimented shooter.

Playing it like that is kind of driving me nuts because this is such a brilliant sandbox to play in - and Drew hates sandboxes.

On another note, I think the sneaking suit vs. camo debate will become moot once Drew develops the Battle Dress. The Battle Dress is clearly the best choice for his playstyle, and if he doesn't develop it and/or use it that should make it pretty obvious how much he's relying on Dan to get him through this game that he doesn't really want to play.

This series needs Metal Gear Scanlon V - LIVE! Side-Ops and Tapes!

That could be a good way for us to see the stuff Drew doesn't seem to want to do in a regular episode. Plus, make sure Brad and Jeff join in so they can provide Drew with some much needed insight on how other people played the game. Hopefully they could undo some of the brainwashing Dan has inflicted.

@bobeta: It's not that people are angry that Drew isn't playing how they did or want, it's more that we all want to see Drew experiment and find out how he likes to play. However, it seems like his play style is being railroaded by Dan's suggestions of how he played and his (quite frequent) misinformation. For example, championing that Riot SMG while not telling Drew he could aim down sights to be more accurate with the pistol, telling Drew that CQC slams are the way to go when Drew could also choke guys out, use them as shields, interrogate them, or hold them up to quickly neutralize them. Instead, Drew will throw guys every time because he now thinks that's the best and only way.

No one is expecting Drew to play like a pro, (and if you are, get out) but I want to watch how Drew plays MGSV, not necessarily how Dan plays MGSV.

Exactly. You can see the effect Dan's suggestions are having on Drew's thought process at the end of this video: he totally ignores all the camo on the development screen. He doesn't even stop to read what it says and learn how it works.

If I could read Drew's mind I bet he said to himself something like "Camo? Nope don't need that because Dan played the entire game in the sneaking suit..."

Drew is a smart guy, and I hope he starts thinking for himself a bit more. That sounds harsh, but you know what I mean.

Other than that I'm enjoying the series so far. Drew killed more dudes in this episode than I bet I did through the whole game and it's fun watching such a different playstyle than my own.
