The first couple of episodes of this feature really caused me to have a 180 on this game, whereas it previously just seemed boring I was now super into the story mode questing. I told my gf about it and she was interested as well and we were talking about getting a couple of PC copies. But now after seeing this episode we're out. If Rare ever adds a PVE mode we'll gladly be back on board but for now, hell no.
I feel like there's a mental block happening with this game. Normally the guys get better the more they play but with this one they don't really seem to be learning much. Vinny still punches, they don't have positioning for the second boss down (thought this one's close), they don't use the special on the fourth boss, and they still have trouble with certain normal enemies. It's weird.
Nonetheless it's still fun to watch them and I continue to absolutely love this series. When's Super C?
For the first boss what I've always done is use the wolf's charge move back and forth. The spacing can be a bit weird though, you don't want to start too far to the left because you won't reach him, or too far to the right because you'll go into him. You might occasionally go too far into him and be bounced back, which can lead to a head hitting you if you're unlucky, but I think it might work better than spamming the fireballs. It's a pretty quick kill.
@alex A good way to take out Thresher Maws is to get close enough that is doesn't go underground but not close enough that it smashes you. This way it will only spit at you and use the jump jets to hop over the projectiles. Also, you get more exp for killing things on foot instead of with the Mako, so you can get it down to a sliver of health then pop out and finish it off for a nice bonus.
@jeff I thought you might dig this Stern factory tour given by George Gomez. It begins around the 5:00 mark and has some really interesting info in it.
