@jyrque: On a similar note (and I didn't know this until I watched a "things the game doesn't tell you, but probably should" video), when you grab onto an object, look at the outline. If it's yellow, if means it's pretty much impossible to move manually (usually because it's still connected to something). If the outline is blue, then it means it's within the range of what you can feasibly drag around with your grapple tool. That doesn't mean a piece with a yellow outline can't be dragged around manually, but you'll have extremely little (if any) impact on it.
In my experience, the yellow/blue threshold seems to be somewhere around the mass of a free-floating chunk of nanocarbon outer hull from the topside of a Gecko class ship.
@spiketail: @cr0ssbow: I'm not 100% certain on this, but I think it might have been an issue with his tools' durability. He was going in with a cutter at like 20%, and I'm not sure if the constant sparks coming out of it are just visual effects or if they could be starting some of the mysterious fires that kept happening.
Side note: Repair kits are cheap, and money doesn't even really matter anyway, so there's no reason not to keep your tools in good condition.
@nadril: Yeah, there was a patch that improved the Game Pass version either yesterday or the day before, but it's still pretty bare-bones* compared to the other versions. It's a lot less prone to crashes than it was for the first week though, thankfully.
*for example, apparently you can save your game in the Steam/Itch versions, unlike in the GP version
If it's not already mentioned in the video, the PC Game Pass version is kind of fucked up. Apparently it takes longer for patches to go through the approval process (or whatever) on there than it does on services like Steam and Itch, so the Game Pass version is lagging behind those versions in terms of feature implementations and bug fixes. The Steam and Itch versions are also fairly buggy (it did just come out in Early Access the other day), but the GP version is more buggy.
On the other hand, it is free*.
*if you already pay for Game Pass
Edit: Ben talks about the game not giving you enough information about the underlying math in skill checks and such, but there is an option to enable that. It's a checkbox called "Show Extra Math" or something in the options menu.
