I haven't really played anything from this year...I kinda got caught up with Doom mapping. The only thing I played to completion was Missing Hiker, which is less than half an hour long and kinda ehhhh.

Gog definitely has some pretty great free stuff.

I managed to get Dragonsphere when it was free. It was a lot better than I was anticipating. It's kind of a shame that it's no longer free - although, it's definitely worth the price of admission.

Teenagent is reaaal bad, yet also kinda endearing in its own way...really interesting hearing about the lineage of the developers.

I have a real soft spot for FOTAQ - I suppose some combo of nostalgia and patriotism. But, yeah, I definitely remember the quality waning as the game went along.

I appreciate Lure of the Temptress mainly because it set the blueprint for BaSS. Beyond that, though, it's the kind of game that's only really worth playing if you want to see the beginnings of Revolution Software - which I did, because BaSS is up there among my favourite adventure games of all-time. In fact, some might even opine that it's one of the fifteen best games of all time...

I just have some specific games I feel like I should finally get around to playing this year:

  • F.E.A.R
  • Enslaved: Odyssey to the West
  • Deus Ex
  • Strife

Time for an updated list 👀

  1. Burn After Reading (2008)
  2. Pi (1998)
  3. Alien (1979)
  4. Rope (1948)
  5. Fargo (1996)
  6. 10 Cloverfield Lane (2016)
  7. Blair Witch Project (1999)
  8. Cube (1997)
  9. The Truman Show (1998)
  10. 12 Angry Men (1957)

@gyratyne: I was looking for big damage output: Lightning Mech has the potential to damage a lotta enemies if you can get stuff lined up. Gravity Mech is helpful for lining up the big combos - and it also comes bundled with Vek Hormones. And you already know that Smog Mech is good.

Also, that is a clever synergy with Mafan and Ice.

@gyratyne: I felt like using a custom squad would probably be the best way for me to get a win on Hard. I went with:

Lightning Mech + Smog Mech + Gravity Mech

Oh shiit...I've been dragged back in. I've put 20-something hours into this game over the last few days.

Also, just got my first win in Hard mode
