Top 100 Favourite Games (2020 Edition)

Hello, I completely redid my Top 100 list from scratch this time around. I took my last list, added in some games I played over the last two years, then randomised the order. I then reordered that randomised list without looking at my old lists. So, I guess that explains the huge shifts in order this time around.

Also, as it turns out, opinions and perspectives change over time. Not to mention that memory and nostalgia are weird things.

As usual, I tried to avoid listing similar games within the same franchise. Okay, I may have broke that rule a few times. This time though, I've noted where there are other games that would feel a bit too redundant to also include.

Fun facts

Four games ended up in the same position as they were last time. Given how I put the list together completely from scratch, it's probably mostly due to chance.

I added in five new entries this time around, including GeoGuessr, which is something I've always really enjoyed, but I never felt was top 100-worthy - until recently. GeoGuessr received some big updates recently, including the addition of a battle royale mode - which is pretty damn fun.

By far, the developer most represented in my favourites is LucasArts with seven games. Which, I guess isn't too surprising, given how prolific they were back in the 90s with their adventure games.

The largest increase in ranking is shared by both Titanfall 2 and The Walking Dead. Titanfall 2, I can understand - I'm sure my fondness for it increased partly due to my love of Apex Legends. I have no clue what I'd attribute the increase in The Walking Dead's position though. I definitely have a lot of nostalgia for the zeitgeist surrounding that game.

The largest decrease, which was also by a factor of 47, was Sam and Max: Hit the Road. I still absolutely love that game, but I just dunno if it resonates with me as much as it used to.
