I don't know why you would want to use your console as a server for streaming when the cloud exists...? Why am I providing/paying for the hardware for cloud streaming? Isn't that Microsoft's job? And why do I want to eat up the laughably small upload bandwidth (and data cap) on my non-enterprise internet to stream from my own console? Is the draw literally just because it's my personal console and... that matters to me... I guess?

I really wish they would have cleared some of that shit up.

I don't want to give it a full pass, but Sea of Thieves really feels like they're launching it as a framework to add cool stuff to over time, especially with the inclusion of the game in the Xbox game pass. Even if it's underwhelming now, I'm optimistic for the future of the game.

In Haiti there was a little "restaurant" (actually it was a just a lean-to with an open fire in the back) on the side of the road that was selling spaghetti with mayo, ketchup, and cut up hot dogs. It's honestly not terrible if you can force yourself to not think too much about what you're eating, or how the ingredients are stored in a rural town near the equator with no electricity...

I can't wait for Master Hand's debut in Tekken.

In Punk's defense he did send Tokido to losers and the run back is usually harder for the person that won initially.

Also, Tokido didn't just taunt Punk, he fucking combo'd off the taunt to take the round. Way more raw.

@andrack:

Oh, I hadn't heard that about population density. Even so, I'm mainly talking about the very end of a match when there are only a handful of players left and player density within the circle doesn't mean as much. At those times you can still be forced into crossing an open area because the cover you chose wasn't close enough to cluster of people (who you aren't necessarily aware of) hiding closer to each other on the other side of the field. There are probably ways to try to play around this ("oh shit, I don't see anyone near me, better run to different cover"), but sometimes it still feels a bit cheap.

Also, I was mainly referring to the timing between circle shifts, not the speed that the circle moves. It's possible to get into situations where you barely make it into the circle, get into a fight (which can be lengthy) and not really have enough time to make it to the next circle. You could say that you should just be aware of when the circle will move and break off the fight to run if necessary, but depending on the cover situation, it's not uncommon for that to also be a death sentence.

As for the circle visibility thing, you're probably right that it's not a really an issue in terms of "fairness". It just means you have to learn to never treat the boundary like it's cover or a wall. It's frustrating to die from outside the circle to someone who's clearly not going to survive, but it's not like I expect them to lay down and let me live just because they're not going to make it. That being said, if they made a change to make it harder to kill someone while in the "gas" I wouldn't complain.

I'm not trying to moan about the game, and I'm definitely not confident that changing any of these things would actually improve it. I'm just saying, and this isn't necessarily a bad thing, that there is a certain element of randomness to who wins and who dies (and that's without even discussing things like loot and weapon spawns).

I wouldn't say when you die in Battlegrounds it's always because you got outplayed. The nature of the circle means you can get really screwed by some real random stuff. The speed that it changes, it's random placement, and the fact that there's no vision penalty for being outside the circle (like in H1Z1) can lead to some pretty cheap deaths.

Certainly you can change how you play to minimize the impact of the circle, but when it's down to you and one other guy in cover on opposite sides of the circle with an open field between you, the placement of the next circle can basically decide who's going to win.

Dan's just thinking outside the box. Everyone's all concerned about trivial things like survival, while Dan's asking the real hard hitting questions about blue collar space builders/janitors.

I wasn't really interested in this game until watching it at Combo Breaker. That shit was sooo good.
