Soul Calibur, sadly, is getting stale because none of the sequels brought anything new to the table in terms of gameplay.

If you can afford sandy bridge, get sandy bridge.  Of course this advice applies right now where AMD is still selling "last year's tech" and intel has already transitioned to its new hotness (sandy b). 
  
Things may change when bulldozer rolls around. 
 
AMD is an excellent chip company too.  Their chips perform almost as well as intel's and are magnitude's cheaper.  If someone is looking for the most raw power regardless of price, sure Intel chips are usually top of the line.  However, once you factor in price and performance per dollar ratios, AMD chips begin to look extremely attractive.
