make sure you hold onto those smaller speakers. A good technique to use is when you done mixing on your super awesome good monitors, you switch and listen to them on a smaller, more "user friendly" ones, headphones, even laptop speakers. Mainly to make sure your mix sounds equal whenever it will be played, which is pretty important.

@markini6: No, not with a Micro. What is the question? Might be able to answer it regardless.

Hiya!

Overall I would have to say your stuff was good! But I am an audio engineer and a musician as well.

The songs themselves where good, but remember you want to send the listeners on a journey hen they listen, and I didn't get that much from the songs you had. Now, this isn't a super huge deal, since it’s something you can just read about, and it helps if you have someone there to basically help you produce it. But I would say to work on that over time, it just comes with practice, especially with electronic music sine you have such a huge palette of sounds to work with.

But, from an engineering point of view, there was a bit to much sibilance on the hi hat hits and some of the higher pitched sounds. So, when you mix next time, I would definitely just pull down the highs, around the 4.5kish to 8k frequencies down like one or two dbs, maybe even less than that since it wasn't *too* offensive* But enough to notice. The bass on everything was a bit shallow too, nothing had a kick to it. Remember you don't want to mix on headphones, so I would look into monitors when you can. And remember you want to give you ears some time to relax and get charged back, so you shouldn't mix the same day you are working on the parts.

If you have any questions, just send a pm or ask. I would be happy to help. Cheers! Good luck : )

Their is plenty fo good music being released today, regardless of genre. You are not going to find it on the radio, or in any major record store though. The internet is a great tool for finding new music. GO listen to the differnt types of Electronic music, probably an entire world of music you never even dreamed of, aside from every other genre that isn't rock!  (Lots of good indi and underground hip hop out there too!)

I would highly suggest these sites.
http://www.liveplasma.com/
http://techno.org/electronic-music-guide/      (great starting point for electronic music, although slight subjective with his opinions, gives a good sense of what is out there)

Go forth and find new music!
