I don't have an MBA nor any business acumen, so I can't say one way or the other if the layoffs were warranted. After all, layoffs are happening everywhere in the tech/ online media industry as of late. You could say that the layoffs should have been handled better. Perhaps, but I can't see how a company can make the pain any less since the end result is the same.

Truth be told, I'd rather not punish every company or CEO that has done wrong or at least perceived to have done wrong. The list is too long. Might as well, smash your iPhone, PS5 and Xbox , if you think it helps.

@efesell: You're right. Space travel/exploration is a waste of money anyway. Same goes for Starlink. Let the Ukrainians find other ways to communicate in their war. Not my concern.

Say what you will about his antics, Elon Musk got the US back into crewed space travel, otherwise, we'd still be paying Russia for trips to the ISS at $60 million dollars a pop.And yes, I had to look that number up.

The games they make for it have to be good for me to even consider buying this.

I mean, really, really good. Like on par with their established IPs.

Any drug has the capacity to hurt you. Alcohol in excess is bad for you. It can give you cirrhosis of the liver. Caffeine can mess your heart up. I'm not up on the latest with weed, but I'm sure people using the stuff in excess are not doing themselves any favors. Everything in moderation.

Wow, I didn't know "TV Guide" still existed.

They never found their audience, and let's face it, there's too much competition out there. There's IGN, GiantBomb, Gamespot, and certainly others along with a lot of people doing patreons. All of these outlets represent competition for eyeballs. What's worse, is that they were on cable TV. Who watches cable anymore?

@thepanzini: That was my first reaction as well. They want to stay competitive in a market where the Xbox is running neck and neck with them.

As different Giantbombers leave and do their own thing, it splits the potential viewer base. Let's face it, there's a lot of content out there, and I for one, don't have a lot of time in the day to follow and monetarily support each and every Giantbomb alum when they go off to do their own thing. In the coming weeks and months, I'm going to make some hard decisions on who to watch and support as I'm sure others will as well.
