  • This game would be playing at the Ritz if it was a film. Think about the first time you saw a movie that actually challenged you brain. I'm talking about that first time you saw Momento in college. Or the time your finished Fight Club and went, "oh shit". This game has those moments in spades and does it all with a level of maturity and depth that abandons the standard tropes the conventional video games bath in.

  • I played this game every night since it came out and it continues to be enjoyable and solid. Smart people made a very smart game of rock paper scissors with color and character. Really nice to play something with so much depth and class that is bright and positive. Always felt worth my time.

  • When I was 10, we had Doom 2 on my windows 95 machine in my parent's basement. It was dark, dank, and cold. And so was Doom. To play a modern take on that game seems like a fool's errand, that will never live up to how my memories and blood tinted glasses remember it. But Doom 2016 is better than my visions. It's what I think I thought that game was. Instead of having to use my imagination, this Doom is THAT FAST, AND THAT DUMB, AND THAT BRUTAL, ALLLL THE TIME. So Dumb, So Brutal....

  • Madmen dude, on the radio, in the forest, with cartoon graphics. This felt more like a short novel than a game and that's pretty special. To think back on a video game and remember moments and emotions over jumps and collectibles is really a nice change of pace.

  • Biggest surprise of the year. Hitman creates a puzzle you can poke murder at over and over. The dead murdered body never gets smelly.

  • SUPER HOT< SUOER H0t Sup3r H00t

  • Pretty wild accomplishment. Biggest game of the year.

  • Biggest sense of accomplishment I had all year. Cryptic, smart, and gorgeous. Very much a one trick pony.

  • Fuck this game.

  • Drive through Austrailia while listening to Keith Buckley.
