Recent game, and I'm not sure if it's out yet (but it doesn't hurt to ask, especially with the Steam sale going).

2D pixel side-scroller, fantasy setting, and everything has simulated pixels like in NOITA. I know Kotaku did a video preview of it a while back...but for the life of me I can't remember the name. One of the larger difference was that I believe it had a story and also didn't take place in a cave. The game looked a lot like Kingdom.

It uses the same "draw/drag and match" mechanic that Grindstone does....except it was released a lot earlier. I could have sworn it was mobile, but don't remember if it was iOS or Android. 2D, simple-ish graphics. Had a very Puzzle Quest aesthetic to it: swords, skulls, gold, etc., only with much simpler pixel-style visuals.

~Thanks!

The only problems I've been having with the app is that it can be pretty laggy, especially when loading, seeking, or pausing.

@notnert427: The Gaslamp district is A LOT of fun. The Shout! House is a stop that I'd definitely recommend. Dueling piano bar, lively atmosphere, good drinks. There's also a burger place was was amazing. And of course, because it's San Diego, the seafood is incredible.

Mid 90's to 2000 2D PC game. It had a medieval setting but with...cartoony graphics (colorful at the very least). You were a rogue or a thief and avoiding the palace guards (or doing your best) and had relatively rudimentary movement and controls. Climb ladders, throw rocks, hide in alcoves.

I want to say it was on Windows 95 or 98

@htr10: I could actually go for a Wendy's frosty right now. Hell, maybe even one of those McDonald's espresso sundaes.

If it were him by himself (and maybe Alex)? Absolutely! Kind of like Jeff and his home streams. Leather Goddesses of Phobos for the first one!
