February Vita lineup and upcoming titles

February is here, and again I'm here with a new version of my list of current and upcoming games for the PlayStation Vita. As usual, this list is focused on the North American market, with Europe and Japan exclusive titles in their own sections below.

In this month we see several more retail releases - NISA starting out with their somewhat infamous RPG/prison sim Criminal Girls: Invite Only, while SpongeBob puts on his superhero costume for platforming hijinks SpongeBob HeroPants. Later in the month Idea Factory continues it's Hyperdimension Neptunia assault on the Vita with SRPG Hyperdevotion Noire: Goddess Black Heart, and NISA gives the atmospheric puzzle game htoL#NiQ: The Firefly Diary a limited physical release. As for downloads, we know action platformer Kick & Fennick is finally making its debut (as a PS Plus title no less), Natsume's Reel Fishing series gets a Vita entry with Reel Fishing: Master's Challenge, and 3DS action game AeternoBlade gets a Vita version. As always, keep in mind that this is only preliminary list - there is likely to be more game releases annouced as the month goes on.

For new game announcements we had a LEGO triple attack with LEGO Jurassic World, LEGO Marvel Avengers, and LEGO Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin. Toukiden expansion Toukiden Kiwami got confirmed for March, cross-over anime fighter Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax is being localized by Sega, and indie games Starlight Tactics, Scram Kitty DX, Badland, and TorqueL are getting Vita versions. In Japan, Yumi's Odd Odyssey is getting a Vita port, in addition to various visual novels and a anime tie-ins like Cross Ange, Saekano and Tokyo Ghoul.

And we're done. Come back next month, when Toukiden Kiwami releases, as well as Aksys' supernatural RPG Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters.

That's quite a post, the Spelunker Collection link goes to the Guardian Hearts Online Page just FYI.

@citizencoffeecake: Fixed it. And, well, it helps that I've been keeping this list for over two years now, so I only have to update it when I repost it at the start of each month.

Huh, a new Starlight game on Vita? That Vita version of Starlight Inception must've sold alright despite being totally busted at launch.

I'm happy someone tries to make space combat games on that platform, but I hope they spend more time tuning the UI for the Vita's screen this time around, because it was really hard to read in Starlight Inception:

Yup, this is from the Vita version.

@fisk0: I haven't looked much into it, but it appears the new Starlight game will be a turn-based strategy game rather than a combat sim like Inception.

Still skeptical about Criminal Girls, but I'll try it out. The core gameplay sounds like it might be interesting. Looking forward to Hyperdevotion Noire and htoL#NiQ more though.

Kick and Fennick was a pleasant surprise that I truly enjoyed and is worth the $8.00 if you don't have PS Plus.
