Given my own struggles with it, I don't think I can handle watching the Mauro doc for just how close to home what snipits I've heard talked about it will hit home. Would love to hear what anyone who does see it thinks of it though.

I am always a fan of people with the same sorts of mental conditions I've suffered from being able to get out and tell their stories in a way that lets people with normal brains kind of understand? Curious to know how this doc handles the mental illness aspect of Mauro's life.

2nd raw in this run up to MitB I have bailed mid-way through on. Can't say I miss it, at all. Here's hoping smackdown is decent.

I'm unsure how to feel about the smackdown news. Like, if they are actually putting it on Fox, and not FS1, that's massive.

But does that not mean we will just get Vince's hands all over smackdown in a way they don't seem to be right now? Like is 2019 gonna be the year they put Roman on smackdown and have him beat AJ, Bryan, Jeff, Orton and etc, while keeping him the boring baby-face he is booked/written as right now? Cause if so, that will make Smackdown the worse show every week be default IMO. Which is gonna suck cause Raw, even if Vince isn't as heavily involved in it anymore, is still gonna be 3 hours...

@godzillasbrain: Honestly I'd likely recommend all the games I listed. The stories didn't work for me cause I'm me, they should work well for most everyone else.

If you mean what games had a story that did click well with me, your gonna get the general answers. Mass Effect 2, Witcher 3, etc. Though I suppose my love of Danganronpa V3 (and that whole series) might be out of the norm. I was very close to giving Tyranny my personal GotY back in ..whenever it came out. So yah, I've got some outliers.

Last of Us, Bioshock Infinite and Nier didn't have very interesting stories.

Purely subjective to me, I know a lot of people loved them. I've just read and engaged in so much fiction and/or philosophical study given the kinds of college classes I took that, what was fresh and new and mindblowing to most people was "I've read half a dozen stories using these tropes and have called every plot twist.." for the last of us or "I wrote multiple papers on this topic and had length class dicussions in a out of class with my professor/fellow students about this stuff a decade ago. Interesting but not mindblowing. -Nier.

I don't discount that most people are not in my unique nerdy ass position, but it sucks on my end. I love good stories (Why I've read so many) and deep interesting philosophical questioning (why I've deep dove into it so much). To have a bunch of games come out that hit all those marks is great for me knowing other people get to experience them! But not so much for me when its 'been there, done that' already for me personally.

If you want a shorter experience. Try any of the big games that have come along. Gone Home explores some interesting themes. What Remains of Edith Finch was praised for its story-telling. There are dozens of adventure games that explore all kinds of themes and can be played through just for the story if you open up a walk-through.

If your willing to put some time into a game and want something thats gameplay and story, you might try the latest Assassin's Creed, you might try God of war. You might try jumping into Wolfenstein 2 (just read up on what came before honestly not worth playing through the first game). You might enjoy Prey, etc etc. The truth is most of the games that get a lot of attention are fairly heavy in story. At least on the level of the Uncharted game you played in some cases, in others more akin to Max Paine's smaller but still important moments.

If what you want is a single game that you might be able to deep dive into the story for a massive amount of time. Then pick up the Witcher 3. It is, by far, the best gameplay and story heavy game to come out in the last decade. You can simply read up on what came before, or start with the Witcher 2 (the first witcher is a hard game to go back too and its story can be read in a page worth of text.) The Witcher 2 is a good game, but the 3rd is like, "The" game of that genre. Nothing else has come close.

Otherwise, have you watched the Persona 4 Endurance Run? You might give that a look-see and see if games like that appeal to you. In which case Persona 5 or Nino Kuni came out.

There is also something like Horizon Zero Dawn, Last of Us and, honestly people are right. The earlier Uncharted games might catch you in a way the 4th really didn't.

The thing is, you want games with a deep narrative? That's pretty much defines every AAA game that's not a Call of Duty or Madden that's come out. It really depends on the kind of stories you want to hear Re:theme and message, as well as how much story vs gameplay you want vs what kind of gameplay you want vs if you even want gameplay and just wanna play a good story.

Aside from onions, which I decline, my typical hot-dog topping are all the top of the chart.

Ketchup, Mustard, Cheese, Chili. Not always at the same time, but those are the only accepting topping to put on a hot dog for me.

Shout-out to the mustard (yellow) and chilli dogs they make at a very local rural movie theater that are pretty much the best hotdogs I've ever had (cause the chili is exactly what I want out of them). Have bought 12 of those things (and eaten 6 during the movie, 6 during the evening) in one truly memorable binge.

@ht101: Not sure its worth going out of your way to find, the the AJ vs Nakamura match was IMO the best one they have had in WWE. Purely on account of the ending not being horrific non-finishy.

Also, you missed them...maybe burying Big Cass? Very unclear. Bryan got to beat him down seriously, then Joe straight up cut him down in a promo (they are facing off for that last MitB spot next week I think)..but they gave him 5-7 minutes of some of the most akward promo time so..dunno?

For what its worth, "Byan vs a Big man who is all-in on the "I ain't letting you have your title shot, I am gonna retire your ass again" generically is a good story. The issue is..its Cass so..eh.

Time will tell but hey, if this Smackdown was the final nail in the Bryan vs Cass fued, then it was above average as far as stuff goes.

@turboman: Then I would say the things you need to be sure of is. Who is going to take the video and audio and turn it into something decent? If you think you've got that in the bag, both video production and audio experience great, solved. The next would be to figure out how many voices you want on the thing. Like, its something you could theoretically do by yourself? So figure out how many other people you want to hear opinions of.

That thought really requires some tough choices. Like, not everyone is gonna have the right voice, or mic setup or cadence or ability to talk off the cuff. Hell, you yourself might not be who you want to put on such a video if you think your own verbal back and forth isn't that good. I dunno.

And so on. Like its totally a thing you can do. But if you want it to be decent/good, you'll have some hoops to jump through and work to do.

@turboman: I agree the discussions could be dumb fun. But would worry that like, forum or discord-chat is one thing, voice a whole lot different. I like the general concept. But what exactly are you thinking the format would look like?

Like, a google-hangout chat that focuses on a match? The match itself with the commentary cut out and over it is instead our discussion of it? A video of the match itself while a chat-scroll of discussion happens along one side?

I'd say figure out your format, and then go recruiting people you think would fit the bill.
