Really though the Gungrave games are simple but a fun way to spend an afternoon and the environmental destruction was really cool back when it came out. The anime isn't too bad either aside from a couple lame episodes toward the end but the finale made up for it.
I'm not trying to jump on the anti-Ben bandwagon, but he was simply grating in this video. I just turned it off a third of the way through.
I think part of the problem is he and Jeff have a similar tendency to nitpick and dump on games which makes some things feel like a really negative slog. It's why Jeff/Vinny and Jeff/Dan plays so well you have a really energetic person to keep things moving and point out the cool stuff to keep it from getting too negative. Hopefully the next GBW hire can fill that role a bit because the GBE crew has it in spades while GBW as a whole just seems burnt out and uninterested at times. Brad and Rorie being out recently hasn't helped either, they tend to be pretty chipper duders.
Boy, some people can't handle criticism of people they like. They aren't personally attacking you. They are voicing their opinions. Learn to deal with it. Everyone is going to like or dislike something. There is no point in having a hivemind mentality. Criticism makes things better.
And this was a bad playdate.
This is a really hostile way to try and say people have different opinions and that's cool, especially when you undermine your own point by calling people with a differing opinion part of a hivemind as if no one could've actually enjoyed the content of the video and is simply championing for the GB crew.
This may have been in the Quick Look and I missed it but can you equip gear but hide it so you're character outfit retains the original look but you have stats. I know they mentioned the transform system but if you have to deal with micro transactions just to retain a characters original look that is super lame.
I find it amusing in the lead up to the release of Zelda the crew would mock the Nintendo PR line of "if you see something, you can go there" saying they needed to do more than that because so many games have already done that and now they're gushing over that exact thing.
I don't think I would mind the Zelda talk so much if it was more substantial than I climbed a thing and found/did a thing. It's great they like it but it doesn't make for great content when there's nothing new or interesting to say about it.
Dan's anger at this is strange, it doesn't seem great but the "humor" isn't as egregious as he makes it out to be. Vinny seems to get it's dumb and that's the point so you just shrug your shoulders and move on, it's supposed to be silly and stupid.
Never really cared for the Zelda games but I'm glad this is apparently a good one for folks who are into them. I'll have to restart Oracle of Ages someday, that was the only one that ever held my attention but unfortunately the battery in the cart died before I could finish it.
This looks insanely tedious if you ask me. Characters look great though.
It's even more tedious to play. Listening to him talk about how they're looking to fill the action void in mobas was really weird because there's no action to this it's very standard moba fare with a plodding pace. If you're going to make an action moba let ranged characters play like a character from Uncharted or Gears and let melee characters do combos and launchers ala DMC, making a 3rd person moba doesn't make it an action game.
They desperately need more sound in the game as well. 40+ minute matches with nothing but clanking metal and a bad UT announcer is rough. Where is the character VO, where's the music, anything to give some personality and flare to the battles.
This is easily my most disappointing game of 2016. Now I understand how Sonic fans feel. You grow up with a franchise that used to be great, and then, over the last decade, the games for said franchise have been garbage. I need to tell myself that TMNT is dead (in terms of games and movies), the Nickelodeon show isn't half bad.
Serious question when were TMNT games ever great? They've kind of always been mediocre with a couple stand outs. It's not like this game has some great legacy to live up to, it's just the latest in a long line of TMNT brawlers.
You mentioned the fantastic Nick series but forgot Slash was Raph's pet not Mikey's his is the ice cream cat. Also Karai is Splinter's daughter but was raised by the Shredder and made to believe he was her father as he abducted her when he killed Splinter's wife. You're probably busy with baby time but it's definitely worth catching up on the series when you have time, the end of Season 3 was fantastic.
