For the custom cryblock extensions.

Hehe did you try it? Going to play with it a little and addon. Will blog once version .02 is ready.

Naw, I just commend you for going that extra mile. I'm a dumbass when it comes to code - does the program just censor out certain member's posts that you've marked as crybabies, or does it detect certain strings of text?

Just created the blog about the CryBot and fixed the reply/quote problem.

Someone in a post mentioned AD Block so I joking around mentioned I wish there was a CryBot for the forum. Well I am happy to report I have created one for Giant Bomb only. This only functions in the Chrome browser and only works for the GB forums. What it does is replace the key words listed below with red text [Replaced by CryBot]. The list of terms is very short right now but with your help will grow.

Last Updated: v0.05 - 12/03/2012 - 5:30PM Central

Instructions:

  1. Download by clicking here
  2. Extract the zip. The files are ASCII files so you can see there are no hidden gimmicks.
  3. In Chrome go to TOOLS - EXTENSIONS
  4. Check the box that says "developer mode"
  5. Click the button [Load unpacked extension]
  6. Browse to the extracted folder
  7. Refresh a post with one of the key words below

Current List:

  • come on guys
  • cop out
  • i am a paying customer
  • i dont like
  • i pay money for
  • im not crying
  • im unhappy
  • its not fair
  • its unfair
  • not renewing
  • sucks
  • tired of excuses
  • unacceptable
  • we payed for a product
  • If you dont like it leave
  • my money is a donation
  • i dont get it
  • im no fan of
  • subscriber content is lacking

What other terms are needed? I know there are plenty!

Check back on this post to see updated version with more terms. All you have to do is replace the files and click the reload under the extension.

Will be added next version:

To add to my last post. While it is not premium (and should be just to shut people up) that stream that's up on Justin.tv of Jeff talking shit funky barn is pretty dam good. Why does everything have to be premium? Cant anyone be happy with what they get? And your not just paying for videos ether I'm not going to mention the other benefits anymore as this is getting ridiculous

Thing is though, when signing up for a premium membership it says in big bold motherfucking letters: Exclusive Content Every Day. That's what I signed up for, that's what I pay them for, that's what I expect to get. And while you might be cool with not getting what you pay for, there's quite a few of us that won't just shut the fuck up about this kind of false advertising, and be happy what little we get.

Lawyers version: Everyday you can access premium content.

I wonder though if Comic Vine premium content counts as part of that.

It's not just zombies, the post-apocalypse in general has been kind of a hot thing for the last few years. I wonder what it says about us that we've become so obsessed with our own demise.

I only have until the 21st of this month to finish my shelter.

Premium content has never been that worthwhile. You're paying for let's plays when it comes down to it. (that's what load our last save and the other stuff essentially was)

I'm definitely not going to be renewing, I got this sub at half price and still kind of regret it.

not even to support the duders? :( you make me sad

Get real. They're under CBSi's umbrella. They don't NEED premium sub support. If you browse the site without adblock, you're supporting them. I signed up for the premium content. I'm still getting it, but I sure would be happier if there was more frequent stuff. The Jar talks with Jeff are amazing to me because he's such an interesting guy. But, my point stands; they have corporate support. It's a different game.

Do you think if they had 0 subs CBSi would still keep then on? I think the number of subs shows people are interested in the site other than just visiting the site.

So the last few weeks I have been noticing zombies in my life more and more. No not real ones (but I do wake up as one more other than none). For example over the holidays I was showing my young nephew Scribblenauts Unlimited and asked him what he wanted me to try and make. Every single answer after the noun was "now make it a zombie". So I have "zombie tree", "zombie car", "zombie dog" and a "zombie purple bear wearing roller skates that gets angry when he sees a pink zombie cat" (Yes the last one is real and you can do it). Then I go look at my games and movies collection and find I have plenty that have a zombie concept somewhere in it. It may just be the same concept where you don't notice a certain type of car until you buy one yourself. I did just get finished playing all 5 episodes of The Walking Dead and ZombiU. Even COD has an entire zombies section.

What is your take on the entire Zombie epidemic? I know they have been around for years but is it trending up or it is just a trend that has returned yet again. I know there is probably a wiki on the origins of the zombie but what do they mean in today's culture? Is it something that people feel they can use as content right now to turn a buck or is there deeper sociological end of the world thoughts encouraging more of the survival genre? For me since the Twilight movies have turned Vampires into a teenage romance/drama creature I welcome zombies. Your thoughts?

I can't help but feel that we've had this exact same poll before.

I'm here for the premium content. I don't understand what your options entail.

Yes first poll (quest done). I did a quick search but could not find a poll but may have not search for the exact wording. This poll came from a another post about lack of content and was just curious to why people do sub. For me I am still considered new to this site but after someone told me about it I enjoyed the down to earth approach to the videos. Came a member to support the staff for a great job and also enjoy the bonus content.
