I've had the chance to play killzone 2 already, and about the loading screens.. They are kind of made in 3D, so when you rotate with the six axis the loading screen also rotates. I've only played 2 levels of it and on those there was nothing special or no real advantage of doing this, but I don't know how it is later in the game so can't talk much about it. And yes, multiplayer is pretty hardcore awesome :D
Hey man! I'm a concept artist, I'm actually currently working on a ps3 game ( yet to be announced ), so yeah, art in games plays a big role for me as well! I'm currently loving the art on the latest Prince of Persia, really awesome! Other games would be: Bioshock, Mirror's Edge ( love the style ), Guild Wars ( amazing concept art team), Half Life 2 ( fantastic architecture ), and although I didn't play it that much, Fallout 3 seemed pretty interesting as well!
I have many art books, but not from games though. But I will probably buy the Mass Effect art book, since I also loved the visuals on that game! I also did check Wrath of the Lich King artbook on my office, and they have some pretty nice stuff there as well!
Hello everyone. So, after reading Tokyochicken's blog about enjoying video games, it got me thinking, I'm kind of into a "gaming crisis" as of late as well. I'm almost 20 and i've been playing videogames since I can remember, and I also remember that I used to play with much more intensity..not sure if I played more time, but I remember that I did enjoy it allot more. I remember loving and playing all the retro games like Jazz the Rabit, duke nukem, destruction derby, crash bandicoot to exhaustion, as well as more recently FFX, MGS1 and 2..god of war 1. This were games that I would finish and just start over again and again. Nowadays when I finish a videogame, I never get back to it. I recently bought God Of War 2...and although I recognize it is a fantastic and very well made game, and a great sequel..I just couldn't seem to enjoy it more then the first one, not because the first one was better or anything like that..I just don't understand, I liked it, it's a fantastic game IMO, but didn't enjoy it as much. The last game that I could really really really enjoy lately is left 4 dead. It is, for me, the best FPS you can get out there...and I don't mean First Person Shooter, i mean Fun Per Second. But this is probably because I always play side by side with friends, which makes the experience much richer obviously. I don't know if over the last years games have been losing this fun per second element, or if it is just me. I just bought Prince of Persia for the ps3 2 days ago. The game is great, the art is amazing, the flow is awesome, the soundtrack is terrific. It has everything for me to enjoy it. And although I do love the game, I can't seem to be able to "enjoy the moment" with it.
I had a glimpse of this "enlightned moment of enjoyment" some weeks ago, on Little Big Planet. The Wedding and the Savana level..with the amazing soundtrack..the amazing level design...for some moments I was just smiling and enjooying it fully, just like the old times. But after some time, it became "not so enjoyable" again.
Anyone ever felt the same way? It's so odd..I always loved videogames..I mean..I even work on the videogame industry...and while videogames still are a huge part of my life, I don't seem to be able to get that amazing enjoyment I used to have.. Sorry for the long post, but I needed to share this. Take care everyone, cheers.
