I cannot believe I still can't actually delete games from my library or organize them whatsoever. So hilariously dumb.

@imsh_pl: I think to figure out what a game is you should look at not only how you use it but how the creator envisions it.

That's for sure fine when dealing with a game with some story and depth or a smaller indie game, but I can't see that applying to NHL Slapshot 2000whatever where the studio just pumps them out on contract once a year. Maybe I missed your point..

All I've gotta say is you must play through a ton of tutorials!

I stopped pre-ordering games after Brutal Legend, I loved the demo then pretty much hated the game.

Maybe just sit down and start an 'epic' like the Witcher 3, or the opposite and just play the crap out of a rogue-like like BoI: Rebirth/Afterbirth, there was definitely a few months where my PS4 was just a $500 Binding of Isaac machine.

I rarely search for walkthroughs, but when I do I never fail to find something in text form. Most of the time it's a Gamefaq forum or a Reddit post or something, but it does what it needs to do.

Same here, almost every time I look up something specific someone has already asked the exact same question. There was something just recently in the Witcher that I didn't know if I would be able to find out but of course someone already asked about it and I got the answer in about 10 seconds.

Cheers for the info everyone. Didn't know you can't run in D1, I can see that being rough.

Will check out Record of Lodoss War too(though I don't have a Dreamcast).

Since many people here still play/re-visit older games(as it should be) I had a couple questions about these as they were ones I always wanted to try back in the day but never got a hold of:

Diablo 1 - PS1

There was a thread on this forum a couple years ago asking this exact question about this one but I'm asking about the PS1 version specifically. If the controls are garbage I'll probably skip hunting it down but I love the atmosphere in general of Diablo and have heard this one is even gloomier than 2.

MDK - PS1

Always saw this in top 10 lists but never got around to it!

edit: A mod changed my thread title, my idea was to create a general 'does it hold up' thread so that it could continue with other games/people once these are answered. If that was not obvious or not wanted then of course I respect that decision.

@jeust:

- the Alan Wake duology;

The original is so great, playing it on the hardest difficulty gave me a few of those absolute classic gaming moments you'll never forget(pushing through with no ammo and just barely making it to safety to avoid receiving a fatal blow). Still love the mechanics of this game.

Kind of like a counter-thread to 'Games you can't quit'.

The #1 by far for me is The Legend of Dragoon. That game consumed close to a year of my life when I was younger, I had one other friend that was playing it at the same time and we would talk about it at school every single day for months.

Basically what I'm getting at is this game meant so much to me at that time that I can't even imagine revisiting it as I feel like the nostalgia(4 discs of it!) would hit so hard that it makes me depressed just thinking about it.

I was quite 'meh' about Apotheon for the good first hour or so but ended up liking it quite a bit and finished it. Give it another go when you have the chance!

Right now it's The Last of Us Remastered(PS4), I just beat it for the first time about 4 days and am now on the 4th playthrough on survivor on the road to plat. Incredible game. Other than that it's The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, tons of hours put in and many more to come I'm sure(and soon Afterbirth!).

Some older ones that I have always come back to over the years for reasons I can't explain: SOCOM 1(PS2, played this online until the servers shutdown), Medal of Honor(PS1), MGS 3: Snake Eater(PS2)
