I'd assume it'll be iOS style cheap/free entry and then optional microtransactions, but I could be way off there!

Not really fair to compare it's sales to those of the main three though, is it? It's something completely different.

This is incredibly interesting, and the rate at which they're getting funding just goes to show there's a massive demand for something like this. Interesting times!

Fuck Penny Arcade. It fails at point 1 on the Kickstart guidelines too. http://www.kickstarter.com/help/guidelines

Kickstarter is for stuff like the incredibly interesting OUYA android console, not shit like Penny Arcade. Fuck off guys. Hopefully enough people will report the 'project' so Kickstarter will tell them to try selling their shit some place else.

@Mom_I_Cant_Pause_It: Yeah it definitely seems like the more you sprint the less effective it becomes, which sort of makes sense I guess.

I'm seriously wondering if anyone has actually managed to find all 8 notes, as I said in my original post I've yet to get past five, and in other videos I've watched I don't 'think' I've seen more than six collected...

Another vote for a Patrick quick look, here!

At the time of posting, both these download links were working!

Windows

Mac

I love horror games, but they genuinely terrify me. I only finished Amnesia because I muted the sound halfway through. So when I read about Slender which is based on the Slender Man mythos I had to try it, despite knowing it would probably give me nightmares. The premise is simple, you're in a forest with nothing but a flashlight and you need to collect 8 notes/pages/crazed scribblings before Slender Man gets you. Sounds easy, huh? Well yeah, you'd think so. The most I've collected is five. Once you pick up four the intensity picks up not only in the music, but in the frequency you encounter Slender Man, once you hit five notes you need nerves of steel to not panic. I dread to think how Slender Man reacts once you're on your seventh note.

If you're a fan of horror games, I urge you to give this indie developed nightmare inducer a try, you won't regret it. Or maybe you will.

Here's me and my girlfriend playing it earlier. Can you guess who screams the most?

I haven't gotten further than 5 pages yet, it seems that's the turning point for Slender Man to just go batshit mental and fucking kill you.

I'm a massive massive wimp, but I love horror games. There's just something about that fear they induce in me that keeps me coming back like an abused spouse going back to their abusive partner.

Here's me and my girlfriend playing Slender the other night. Yes, I'm far, far more scared than her.

Yeah, my post was probably a bit overly harsh on WoW. Whilst feeling tired, it does what it does extremely well. And I think stuff like the tabard championing is cool and all, but it's just redressing the same thing isn't it? Instead of going and carrying out genocide on the Furbolgs of Timbermaw you're running dungeons instead. It's better than the previous way of grinding, but it's still grinding. I too enjoyed the Sons of Hodir quests, at first, but then it came to the point where I was logging in and doing the same dailies and I just thought to myself "Why? Why the hell am I doing these same quests?" Whatever floats your boat!

I guess if the reason you quit wasn't because you got bored of the mechanics, it's probably worth a punt, just don't expect anything fantastically new.

Not a franchise, but I just don't get Limbo. I've played it from start to finish and the whole experience just wasn't fun. It had a cool art style I guess? Gameplay wise though it was just awful. One of the most over rated games of recent times if you ask me.

@TaliciaDragonsong: I love how you list reputation to gain like it's in anyway positive. Rep grinding is one of the worst things about WoW and MMO's in general.

For an alternative opinion, don't bother with it. Aside from Cataclysm changing up the world the game is much the same, with some nice quality of life changes that sadly make the world feel smaller. WoW is past its prime and its gameplay is really starting to show its age now.
