Games that would benefit from a current gen remake

Some games just don't age very well at all. Here are 5 that could benefit from a large scale remake. By remake I mean the graphics and gameplay engines ,etc whilst basic game structures and layouts should remain more or less the same.

  • Probably the first game that comes to mind for a lot of people. The idea of a remake of this game has been very popular amongst fans of the original. Petitions for this can be found all over the internet and Sony even hinted at the possiblity during a PS3 tech demo however all rumours have been denied. Personally I think a remake is a great idea. As wonderful as the FF7 was, the game did come with its flaws and as time has passed since it's release, these flaws are only becoming more obvious. Blocky graphics and awkward camera angles are just a couple of reasons why this game has not really aged well at all.

  • Yup. That's right. I don't want a new Pro Skater game because I know activision will just fuck it all up; instead I want this game to just be completely upgraded in terms of graphics and game engine.

  • This game actually was remade and released as Twin Snakes on the Gamecube. And yeah it was awesome. However Shodow Moses looked amazing when Solid Snake returned there in MGS4. A full remake of the original is in order, I'm ready for another one.

  • In this case I mean a remake for consoles. Red/Blue were the best in the series (fact) and would be even better on the Wii. In fact, I can't believe Nintendo haven't released a full pokemon game like this for consoles yet.

  • Yeah I know, it's only been six years since GTA: San Andreas was released. However an up to date cover system, better environments and textures etc, would be sweet. I would LOVE to see a remake of this game or at the very least, a return to San Andreas in a future game/DLC pack.
