Howdy all!
I'm a fifth-generation Texan (and Aggie), second-generation geek, and also a teacher. I had a love of learning, cooking, tech, sci-fi/fantasy, dry/sardonic humor, and reading (graphic and regular novels) fostered by my parents, but I got into gaming on my own.
I've had a healthy obsession with zombies, Batman, and Aliens for most, if not all, of my life. I've been a console gamer for most of my life, and have been an off-and-on (currently on) PC gamer since before I could walk (mostly because of a lack of funds to build a decent rig). Hoping to be able to continue the PC gaming for the foreseeable future.
I've been an avid podcast listener since 2008, and listen to them when I work around the house, or whenever I'm driving. My current shows of choice are: the Bombcast, Danswers, Good Job Brain!, the Jimquisition, all of the How Stuff Works podcasts, the Comedy Button, the Geekbox, Useless Information Podcast, and I've been meaning to start up Welcome to Night Vale. I've got a decent commute this year, so I welcome any suggestions that anybody has!
Current geek pursuits include: reading as many graphic novels as I can get my hands on (thanks to a local library system that does a wonderful job stocking new and back issues), and making the most of my remaining summer by working out, maintaining the house and cooking, playing whatever video games I can make time for while my wife is at work, and playing tabletop games with her after hours.
Two things that I've been interested in over the past few years, but haven't gotten into yet, are podcasting and starting a YouTube channel.
Looking forward to chatting with everybody!
