Giant Bomb will be greatly missed. You all have been a part of my life and love of my gaming hobby and it breaks my heart to see this. It's like a group of good friends of mine are moving away.
In a hobby where there are so many racist, sexist and all around terrible people, it was so refreshing to see such kind, compassionate and "real" people share my love of the hobby and have a fanbase that reflected such ideals and empathy (for the most part).
I followed you all since the GameSpot/Arrow Pointing Down days and will continue to follow you on your future endeavors. Take care and see you around space cowboys.
So as a staunch “never Trump” Republican who was heartbroken by what happened yesterday I’m just curious (and I’m really hoping I can get a good faith reply here) why comparing the Capital riots and the riots over police brutality is self-evidently erroneous.
You might believe protesting police brutality is more virtuous then the election outcome but it doesn’t change the fact that both events escalated to the point of inexcusable violence (I however do agree with Vinny that the Presidents rhetoric directly inspired yesterday’s riots and that is reprehensible)

Your "never Trump" shield means absolutely nothing; it's just you wanting to avoid accountability for what helped to do to the US.
It's Republicans like you who have supported a decades-old racist, sexist, lgbtq+ phobic, anti-sick/poor, pro-police brutality, and pro-fascist platform and your "whataboutism" that got us to where we are today.
You dare still call yourself a "Republican"? Think about that.
And just because you and others claim to be "never Trump," you still support the political party that brought him to us. Your party was slowly heating up the pot for decades until it boiled over with the Tea Party under President Obama, then Trump in 2016. Congrats.
That's as good as a "good faith" reply a tone-deaf Republican such as yourself currently deserves.
