I'm more concerned that we're not seeing ANY non-Dota / CS:GO / TF2 content coming out of Valve these days. What are all of those game developers doing? Working on those three games all the time? Creative people like to... you know, create. While a comfortable job is awesome, I imagine there is at least a small stable of game designers and artists who'd like to be working on something new.
Or maybe people go to Valve just to have a nice paycheck and focus on families and other aspects of their lives, assuming the pay is good enough. Can't blame them, but I can't help feeling like it's a waste of talented people.
I still can't for the life of me understand why people's britches are so twisted over the issues of collusion and conflicted interests in games media, or the perceived issues thereof. If you have issues with a games publication or a particular writer, don't consume their content. I stopped reading IGN when I became fed up with their ad-factory cover stories. There's a whole internet out there!
I don't know what to say to people who are so threatened by writers and personalities who they perceive as "pushing an agenda". What are they actually worried about? That game developers will stop making games for them?
I thought the ending with Clem, Jane, and AJ back at the department store felt appropriate, given Carver's ruminations to Clem about being an effective leader earlier in the season. It felt like the seeds were being planted for Clem to become the leader of a group later in life, and the last choice you can make concerning the family may set up a future where Clem has to choose what kind of leader she'll be in this new community.
