Can anyone tell me if Syndicate is Origin exclusive like BF3!? I couldn't find it on Steam, which is kind of a bummer :(

Looks to me like Blizzard isn´t doing this for the sake of the community, but wants the name Dota for its own Blizzard Dota game... I don´t see why Blizzard didn´t trademark the Dota name when that was getting big, back in the day. Thats what happend with mods like Counter Strike and Day of Defeat right?

It seems a little weird for Valve to swoop in trademark the name and make a sequal, but as far as i can tell Valve is making an effort to make a serious sequal. Instead of Blizzard who put out that quickly thrown together thing with Blizzard units, that looks silly and not at all what the original game was.

I say let Valve make this Dota 2 game, it looks cool and true to the first game.

I guess thats what you get for playing a game about soccer, maybe these people will learn from their mistakes.

It happened to people who have never played a Fifa game, or any football game for that matter. Nice ignorance though.

Getting this defensive about it, makes it look like you also got affected by this (and hate soccer). And that you can tell a joke from a true statement...

@Landon: @Zinc: Thanks! It would have been silly to have Batman without the glide in Arkham City!

Can people quit with the "what do you care" or "does it affect your life" comments. No, it doesn't. No, I don't care. Hey, look, we're on a gaming site's gaming forum, talking about games. I made a topic to talk about a game. Surprise. It's a topic of discussion in regards to a hobby I enjoy. Once I close this browser, I don't think once about Skyrim or GOTY so I don't see why people even bother typing stuff like that. If you don't want to discuss the topic at hand, then don't. If you disagree, that's great, tell me why. "Shut up" or "lol skyrim r0x0rz dude 1000000 questz!!!" don't exactly add to the discussion.

Also I don't want Jeff or anyone to change their minds. I'm asking should a game that is broken (to different degrees, on different platforms) be a contender for the goty or should it be disqualified DESPITE its content because the product doesn't work properly. That's all. I'm not here to piss on your Skyrim parade. Skyrim is great. No qualms here. But are goty's qualifications befitting of it? Or is a gaming website's/magazine's goty simply "my favorite game".

I think the thing you are missing is that the big problems on PS3, only affect a small number of the people that are playing Skyrim at the moment (even on PS3). My friend is playing Skyrim on PS3 and it runs just fine. I´m playing on PC and sure i´ve seen some weird glitches, but i´ve also put in over 75 hours! My point is; the game is huge, Bethesda keeps putting out patches the work out any problems people might have, why exclude Skyrim from the GOTY discussions when this game is one of the most ambitious and biggest games released this year.

So if you have some game breaking problems, that sucks! And i agree that developers should always strive to release a "perfect" game without bugs, but at least Bethesda is trying to fix any problems you might have! You mentioned that 2 years ago Bayonnetta was excluded from the GOTY election because of the PS3 version being busted. But that was a totally different situation, because it was busted for everyone playing on PS3.

If i had to pick a game of the year, it would be Skyrim, but its ok to pick something else...

I have a question; can Batman Year One fly around, since he doesn't have a cape? In the trailers they show most of the others flying, but it would be kind of huge if Year One Batman isn't able to fly at all... in Arkham City i mean (obviously).

@Sooty: I actually thought BF1943 on 360 was pretty cool and a pretty easy S-rank
